I t a l l s t a r t e d w i t h a v i s i o n f r o m a N o v a t o Rotarian, Reuben Kaehler, who convinced the mem-bers of the Rotary Club of Novato that they could forever serve the North M a r i n c o m m u n i t y b y building affordable hous-ing for its “seasoned” citi-zens. Currently, all three facilities offer 126 units of affordable housing for the Novato community.
Nova-Ro III, located at 31 Pinheiro Circle, began with the donation of land in the late 1990s. The proj-ect was spearheaded by Rotarian Bob Caro, who spent several years and many hours orchestrating its approval. The project broke ground on December 2002 and was completed and ready for occupancy on Oct. 3, 2003.
Bob stated, “I ate, drank and slept this project. But, in the end after its completion, it is one of things that I am the most proud of accom-plishing for our senior citi-zens and our Rotary Club.”
