Salvador Dali

Biography

He was born in 1902, his father was a notary. Salvador was given his name in honor of his dead brother, who had died some years earlier. As painter always said, he had felt himself as like a double or an echo.He became a student of Madrid Academy of fine art in 1921Making a film with his friend and met Andre Breton, who was a leader of Surrealism movement, in 1928.1929. He joined to Surrealism movement. Had affair with Gala, she was a wife of Pole (Элюар)

1934. He had 6 personal exhibitions. ( Europe and the USA)

1937. He visited Italy, where he visited lots of museums. He was impressed by works of painters and sculptures of Renaissance epoch.

1939. He was thrown out by Andre Breton from Surrealism rows, because Dali didn’t want to protest against general Franco during Civil War.

1940. Moved to the USA with Gala, where he was scandal popular.

1964. Exhibition at Tokyo, where he was very popular.

1980. Exhibition at the Tate Gallery, which was visited by 250.000 people.

1982. Gala’s death.

1989. Daly died. He was burned at the territory of local museum of Daly.
