ASSIGNMENT 6: INITIAL IDEAS

THE IDEA

• My idea is that we present a teenage boy who is being bullied at school, throughout the narrative we will see the boy being bullied, this will make the audience sympathies for the boy and feel sorry for him

• The boy is being bullied by a group of boys similar to his age, we see the boy crying in the video and being generally upset.

• At the end of video we see the boy fit one of the bullies and run off.

TYPE OF MUSIC VIDEO• My music video will be a mix of narrative and performance. I will achieve this by constantly cutting from

my narrative to my performer singing. I believe this will make our video more interesting and allow us to really highlight the artist and establish his USP to the audiences.

• Including both a performance and narrative I believe will make our video more interesting and allow us to draw our viewers attention and maker them want to watch the video.

SONG CHOICE• The song I have chosen is ‘Three wise men’ by James Blunt. I think this is a good song choice as it’s a

fairly slow song so it will be easy to lip sync and also the lyrics aren't too specific, which allows us to have more variety when deciding on a narrative.

• I believe this is a suitable song because the lyrics of the song match our video and the theme of bullying.

LOCATIONSWe will use a variety of locations to show that our character is being bullied these locations include:

• Our School

• The bus

• The local leisure centre / changing rooms

• Music Studio/ Room

For our performance :

• We where thinking of having a dark room with artificial lighting, we feel this will allow us to create serious tone.

COSTUME

Our main character will be dressed in:

• Skinny jeans a jumper and have a back back with him, he will also be wearing a scarf.

Our artist will be dressed in:

• A white shirt

• Tie

• Skinny jeans

LIGHTING

• I will get hold of some lighting equipment as I am thinking of doing a a part of the video in a dark room but I must have good lighting for the audience to be able to see the performer.

• We will also use artificial lighting when filming for our performance.

• For our narrative we will use natural lighting and available lighting.
