  • servicing

    Correct operation and proper main-tenance are essential to achieve the best possible results with the « SAME» CORSARO 70 tractors. For, while it is true that the « SA-ME» CORSARO 70 tractor save time and money, it is also true that correct operation and careful main-tenace will increase this saving. More extensive servicing opera-tions and overhauls should be entrusted to authorized workshops, which are specially staffed and equipped for this purpose and which are under direct technical control of the «SAME» organiza-tion.

    To guarantee efficient operation, all spare parts should be original « SAME» products, and customers are advised to accept only these, which all « SAME» Agents are contractually bound to keep in stock. Within the first year of use, arran-gements are made for 3 check and tuning visits. These will be at the nearest « SAME» Sales Point. On delivery of the tractor, the Customer will for this purpose receive three warranty coupons. The Customer should make use of these a~ the ti mes stated to ensure proper functioning of the tractor.

    ordering of spare parts

    All orders for spares should be ac-companied by the following data:

    1 tractor number (Fig. 1/ A)

    2 engine number (Fig. 1/8)

    3 exact name of part and its num-ber as shown in the Spare Parts Catalogue.

    All part names contained in this handbook are to be found in the Spare Parts Catalogue. The techni-cal data given in this handbook and in the said Catalogue are not binding: « SAME» reserves the right to make whatever changes are required in the interests of product improvement.

  • important

    « SAME » CORSARO 70 tractors, as a result of their construction, have very great stability, low center of gravity and well-chosen weight-distribution. It is however advisahle to respect the laws of inertia and keep to the following rules, especially when the tractor is used for towing purposes:

    1 during long downhill runs, always keep a gear engaged, if possible the same one as would be used to make the identical run uphill.

    2 go slow over very uneven ground, wherever there are cross-falls and when the road is iced-up.

    3 when they are not in use, always protect the P.T.O. 's with the special cover supplfed with the tractor;

    4 likewise adequately protect the universal connecting a P.T.O. joint to implement;

    5 never approach or pulleys, if in operation, wearing loose clo-thing or scarves, belts that .are

    not tight ,fitting or with the end not tucked in;

    6 do not mount or dismount while the tractor is in motion;

    7 always shut off tractor engine before attempting to perform servicing operations or repairs.

    Caution means greater safety and, in the long run, increased time saving.

    The quality of the materials used in « SAME» tractors is very high indeed. For maximum efficiency however, observe the follOWing rules:

    a) if the tractor is new, or recen-tly overhauled, for the first fifty working hours use it only for light jobs at 1600-1700 rpm. Not more than 50% of the tractor's maximum power should ever be employed;

    b) make weekly check of accessi-ble nuts, bolts, screws and -particularly - drive wheel nuts.

    zone the implement is raised; if drawn into the red zone (FLOTT) the implement lowers without auto-matic depth control coming into play. If lever is taken into the green zone (CONTR.), the imple-ment, remaining lowered, becomes ready for automatic adjustment of work depth.

    S Hydraulic depth control lever (see also Fig. 7.12).

    Adjusts work depth according to the number with which it is brought into line.

    7 Hi-Lo shift lever (see also Fig. 3.1 and 7.14).

    This lever has four positions: low high reverse neutral

    as shown on decal at lower right of steering wheel (Fig. 6).

    two pedals: one for right rear wheel brake, one for left rear wheel brake. If the pedals lock (Fig. 3.6) is used, a simultaneous braking action is obtained.

    9 Accelerator pedal (see also Fig. 3.4).

    When depressed, engine revolu-tions increase.

    10 Differential lock pedal (see also Fig. 3.3).

    Should be used only when driving straight in the event of a drive wheel skidding through lack of ad-hesion. Lock comes into play when the pedal is depressed. The lock is removed automatically on lifting foot off the pedal. A slight left or right turn of the steering wheel will assist removal of lock.

  • 11 Rear power take-off shaft en-gagement lever (see also Fig. 3.2.).

    With lever forward, power-take-off and engine are engaged; with lever in rear position, power-take-off is synchronized with rear wheels; with lever in intermediate position, power-take-off is in neutral.

    13 Oil filling and oil level plug of automatic linkage control unit (hydraulics)

    With a new or recently overhauled tractor, check the oil level. Serious damage will result if the automatic linkage control unit is

    12

    allowed to function even for a short time without oil.

    14 Right lift rod levelling crank To extend the rod, turn clockwise -and vice-versa.

    15 Oil drain plug for automatic linkage control unit (hydrau-'lies)

    16 Pressure oil inlets These consist of two half inch gas thread ports onto which can be screwed the joints of the lines through which the pressure-oil flows from the automatic control unit to operate the external hydrau·· lies equipment.
