President’s Letter Charley Wall
President, Tulsa Post
Welcome to February and another edition of the Tulsa Post newsletter! On January 19th, we installed our 2010 officers and were also able to present J. D. Metcalfe $1,000 scholarships to three well deserving college students. Congratulations to Dane Miodov and Blake Cannedy, both are Army ROTC students at Oklahoma State University, and to Jon Guillen who is an Air Force ROTC student at the University of Oklahoma. Thank you to David Epperly from ALL Consulting and his team for reviewing the applications and making the selections.
On February 20th and 21st, the Post will participate in the Tulsa Regional Science and Engineering Fair. Several post members have volunteered their time to judge entries of high school students from across the Tulsa area. Then on February 21st, COL Snyman and I are scheduled to present Army and SAME awards to the top entries in several different science and engineering categories. A big thank you to Chris Strunk, from the Tulsa District Corps of Engineers, for organizing all of the volunteers and awards for this great activity. We are looking forward to a great year for the Tulsa Post. We have many solid programs and opportunities scheduled. A great outing to Webbers Falls is planned for March. April will bring our joint Small Business Conference with the Arkansas Post to be held in Tulsa this year. The National SAME Conference will be held in Atlanta in May. Also, look for details about an upcoming Young Member event! Looking forward to a great 2010! Charley Wall 2010 Tulsa Post President
