1 Welcome back to life
W
It gives me immense pleasure in knowing that you have
taken the first step towards reversing your diabetes and
have decided to start your journey to re-live again. On
this journey you will get to know many new things,
knowledge that already existed but you may not have
been aware of it and its implications on your life.
Diabetes may have a genetic background, you may
inherit a predisposition to the disease but that does not
mean you will have it or even if you have it, suffer the
consequences all your life. Some genes are dictators and
others are not. The gene for your hair or eye colour, for
example, can be real dictators. If they call for you to
have brown hair or blue eyes, you can't argue. But the
genes for diabetes are more like committees. They don't
give orders; they make suggestions. If diabetes runs in
our family, it doesn't mean that we have to end up with
the disease. We have more control than you might
imagine and that control in your hands and mind.
Frankly speaking, you were designed by the creator
to be healthy, to have abundant energy, and to live a
long and highly productive life. You were not designed
to have diabetes, to need drugs, especially in the
quantities we take them today, or surgery, except in
times of emergency. The only reasons you should ever
need medication or surgery are if you are involved in an

accident or if your immune system has been weakened
and you contract a communicable disease.
Why then have we become so dependent upon
drugs, surgery, and other debilitating treatments? The
answer, very simply, is this: We are sick because Nature
never intended for us to eat the foods we are eating
today. When looked at from the perspective of human
evolution, the diet we are eating – loaded with refined
and processed carbohydrates, artificial ingredients and
chemicals we cannot even pronounce and sugars – is a
bizarre anomaly. In fact, we are over fed and under
nourished.
The sad part, Medical training of doctors does not
include anything about nutrition, and consequently it is
considered as a subject irrelevant to health.
In one generation, Asia has gone from the lowest to
the highest rate of chronic illness. People are dying of
Cardiovascular disease more than all other diseases
combined and almost all 95% of these deaths are
preventable, not only preventable but reversible. Being
home to around 40 million diabetics, India is emerging
as the „diabetes capital‟ of the world. One-third of the
diabetics develop coronary artery disease (CAD),
irrespective of the precaution they take, the best of
conventional medicines and drugs they take. One in
every three children born in the United States after the
year 2000 will be a diabetic and one in every five
Indians will be a diabetic. More than 50% of Diabetics
will end up with dialysis in a kidney ward of a hospital.

life, eat your food and think about how to be happy with

2 Background

Reversal Clinic is a brain child of Dr Siddhartha Misra,
the founding director of RC and a Health Conscious
Physician. The concept came into existence after an
awakening in the form of a film he saw called “Simply
Raw”, Reversing Diabetes in 30 days. This is where the
concept of Reversal was seeded.
After intensive research into the subject and the
works done by leading doctors internationally he came

3 The Real Cause of Suffering
W Ever wondered what made you suffer from this illness
that you are living with? You can blame genetics, stress
of a busy life, infections or simply not been treated
properly by doctors and finally destiny. That should be
the end of your blame game. Think for once if there is
something else that you forgot? Perhaps it doesn‟t even

people turn to pills for relief, the downside of this
strategy is that meds often address symptoms rather than
treat the root cause(s) of disease.
Living in a world with increasing levels of Cancer,
Heart Disease, Diabetes and Obesity, over 70% of foods
we consume on a daily basis are processed, and
according to the World Health Organization, and if
current trends continue a billion people will be obese by
2030.
With our fast paced lives, we have become reliant
and connected to devices, TVs, computers, tablets and
smartphones and disconnected with the natural world,
and the people around us. Our ancient bodies have
literarily collided with modern technology to produce a
flabby, disease-ridden populace.
An example of this fast food life was described by
Morgan Spurlock in 2003 when he decided to eat all his
meals at McDonald's for a month. For 30 straight days,
everything he took in breakfast, lunch, dinner, even his
bottled water came from McDonald's. Spurlock recorded
the results on camera for his film „Super-Size Me‟. It‟s
actually a kind of shock/horror movie, as viewers see the
33-year-old Spurlock's physical condition collapse, day
by day. "My body just basically falls apart over the
course of this diet, I start to get tired, I start to get
headaches; my liver starts to fill up with fat because
there's so much fat and sugar in this food. My blood
sugar skyrockets, my cholesterol goes up off the charts,
my blood pressure becomes completely unmanageable.
The doctors were like, 'You have to stop.'" In one month
on the fast-food regime, he gained 25 pounds.

Tell me, did your grandparents have food allergies?
Mine sure didn‟t. And what do you think might have
been the reason for it? Perhaps they didn‟t have
processed food, and their diets were nutrient dense,
allowing them to get the nutrition they needed from their
food. Perhaps, our grandparents did not fall victim to fad
diets, meal replacement shakes and food marketing and
because of this, they had a healthy metabolism, and ate

We need to understand the importance of our food

We have this new religion in modern world today

complex). It is because of this mentality that Hospitals

Doctors their Gods. Those hospitals shine when you
crumble. Health Care system today is for profit and it‟s

you have a commodity as a sick fat person over whom

doctor‟s clinic based on the amount of surgeries he does
or the amount of pills he prescribes. The Doctors are
getting rich, the drug companies are getting richer and
hospitals, the richest. The problem lies in the roots of our
society. Our society is always coming up with a pill
solution treating the symptoms but not the disease. No
reason why we are always looking for miracle cures
even if it be a baba with a bibhuti.
