At extremely high altitudes, the stall speed of an aircraft raises to a number only slightly lower than the sonic destruction speed of that aircraft. Therefore, the airplane has roughly 10-20 knots of practical lift speed. Any lower, and the plane stalls. Any higher, and the airframe dissolves.

TrackingTrackingThe F.P.S. (Friends Positioning System)

For ten years, the cast of Friends brought laughter to millions of view-

ers. In 2004, the series ended after ten seasons. After the split, the friends

have appeared on various shows and even starred in movies. Some

expanded their careers to include theater, while others never really

achieved greater success. This chart maps out every production each of the

friends have been involved in as well as what is next for them. Correlations

between relationships, children and projects have all been addressed as

well.

Dispelling the MythThe American Pit Bull Terrier has often been portrayed as a vicious and aggressive dog. The media blames them for many of the dog attacks that are reported. County and State governments have attempted to adopt breed specific legislation (BSL). These dogs are just misunderstood. And the media has helped shed a negative and often inaccurate light on them. Now it’s time to dispel that myth.

This is a test to determine how well a specific breed handles itself in certain situations. The test involves walking the dog in a park area, where it will encounter neutral, friendly and threatening situations. A dog fails when it shows unprovoked aggression, panic without recovery or strong avoidance.See how Pit Bulls compare to other popular dogs.

Results of the Temperament Test

Pit Bulls bite more than any other dog.

There is no system in place to track statistics on dog bites and attacks accurately in the U.S. Many attacks go unreported according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Pit Bulls attack without warning or provocation.

According to Karen Delise in the book The Pit Bull Placebo, most declarations of unprovoked attacks come from owners who do not understand canine behavior. Dogs will display signs of potential attacks by stares, body stiffening and growling. Pit Bulls give these signals like many other dogs.

Pit Bulls have locking jaws.

Experts say there is no factual research to support this claim. Dr. I Lehr Brisbin of the University of Georgia says there are no “mechanical or morphological differences

between the jaws of the American Pit Bull Terriers and those of any of the other comparable breeds of dogs which we studied.”

Pit Bulls have more bite force in pounds per square inch than any other animal.

Dr. Brady Barr of National Geographic conducted a study on animal bites. The force of bite (in pounds of bite pressure) for dogs was 320. Crocodiles had a force of 2,500 pounds. Hyenas had a force of 1,000 pounds.

Pit Bulls do not feel pain.

While most dogs do not respond to pain while in the frenzied state of a severe attack, Pit Bulls feel pain just like other breeds do. They have the same nervous system as any other breed.

In the spirit of the past winter Olympics, many wonder what the fastest winter sports are. Snowboarding beats them all, downhill skiing comes in second, in third is bobsledding and the slowest of the fastest is luge. If you think 86.6 mph is fast, with nothing between the snow or ice and your skin, 125.4 mph is out of this world!
