AABBOOUUTT JJUUSSTT AA..SS..KK.. MMAAGGAAZZIINNEE

Just A.S.K. Magazine was created by Sharon "Shae" Freeman during the summer of 2010. Shae is the mother of three wonder boys, two of which who are affected by different disorders. Her oldest son DeVion was born with a rare congenital birth disorder called Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome, a combined lymphatic and vascular disease. Her second child Donovan, was recently diagnosed with Autism after years of displaying different learning patterns that were of concern to his family.

Shae and her family know all too well how difficult and painful it is to learn that a child has special needs, but also know first hand the extreme difficulty that families face when the disability is so rare that there is barely any information available about the condition.

In 2004, Shae first decided to reach out and begin helping others after fighting to get proper medical care for DeVion. She began her website "Because I Care" which was later incorporated as a nonprofit and became the "Because I Care Foundation, Inc."

She has also worked as a Freelance writer for the last 7 years, having written for a number of websites and blogs in a variety of genre's. After successfully establishing a Music magazine a little over a year ago and the recent diagnosis of her other son's Autism, Shae decided that it was time to continue her passion of reaching out to families and parents like her who sought support and information for their children and their medical disorders.

Rest Assure that the mission behind Just A.S.K. is a very personal one for Shae. She believes in parents being able to connect with each other and share stories, and hopefully finding answers to questions that they have had for their own children. For rare conditions specifically, it is so hard to find others who share the same concerns, so Just A.S.K. invites all families affected by ALL rare disorders to take part in our magazine, submit inspirational stories and become a part of a larger family!
