Suggested B.F.A. Review An essential part of effective art study is the development and maintenance of a portfolio of creative work. Students begin preparation of their portfolio at the start of their Art education, and must apply for a B.F.A. review in order to remain within the B.F.A. program. To apply, students must meet the following requirements:

1. Apply with a minimum of 18 Art & Design credits including ART 107, 108, 110, and ARTH 109 plus two courses in studio art. The maximum number of ART/ARTH credits taken (including current enrollment) prior to the B.F.A. Review is 30.

2. Transfer, Changes of Major, and other exceptions must see an area advisor to determine their position within the department programs and what requirements they will need to meet if they are interested in pursuing the B.F.A. degree.

3. Submit the B.F.A. Application to the Art & Design office. 4. Attend information sessions which cover the review process, including portfolio submission details.

The review committee assesses the quality of the portfolio and makes a decision as to whether the student will remain in the program. They will discuss the results of the review with the student and provide results in writing. Students who do not pass the review may reapply or have their plans updated to the B.A. program. L.E.

Students who do not pass the review may reapply or have their plans updated to the B.A. program. L.E. Core Electives The L.E. Core comprises 17 learning experiences across 11 learning outcomes. Students must complete a minimum of 36 credits in courses approved for the L.E. Core. Most experiences are course based, and many courses can meet more than one learning outcome (e.g. K3 and R2 or K1 and R3). Some experiences can also be met outside of traditional courses (e.g. undergraduate research [S3], study abroad [I1]).

Students who do not pass the review may reapply or have their plans updated to the B.A. program.
