Why I chose Sammy Sosa
I want to study Sammy Sosa because he is a baseball player.
Our similarities are the love of baseball and a big family.
Early Life
Some differences we have are he was poor as a little boy and I am not.
He also grew up in the Dominican Republic and I am in the United States.
Attributes
Sammy Sosa is physically strong, and he has lots of determination.

Sammy’s dad died when he was seven leaving his family very poor.
Personal Story
Sammy Sosa beat the home run record in 1998. He finished the season with sixty-six home runs.
Life Event
During his time as a baseball player, he changed baseball history by being the first player to hit 60 homeruns in back to back seasons. He also took part in breaking Roger Maris’ long standing record of 61 home runs in one season. Ending his 1998 season with 66 homeruns.

He had to overcome being poor by selling oranges and shining shoes to make money for his mom and six siblings. He also made his own stuff to play baseball using things he could find.
Sammy Sosa made a glove with a milk carton, ball with socks and bat with a stick, and he used his homemade gear until he came to this country to play pro- baseball.
