Youth Parliament CSGN hosted its prestigious Youth Parliament
‘SAMVAD’18’ on 9th and 10th of October,
2018. The conference brought together 150
delegates from schools from across NCR to
recreate the magic of SAMVAD in committees
like Lok Sabha, All India Political Party Meet
and Stakeholders Meet.
Prominent personalities like ‘Manish Tewari’ a
lawyer at the Supreme Court and former Union
Minister of Information and Broadcasting and
Member of Parliament, ‘Priyanka Chaturvedi’,
national spokesperson of Indian National
Congress, and ‘Ravi Visvesvaraya Sharda
Prasad’, expert in telecom, IT, Aadhar, rated as
the 19th most influential individual in the world
by @Onalytica UK in telecom sector were key
note speakers.
STARRY STARRY NIGHT…
One of those few experiences of life that are so
overwhelming to both the young and the old
alike, is ‘stargazing; and this fascination was
caught with a lot of excitement on 13 October
2018, Saturday evening at Cambridge School
Greater Noida. As an activity conducted for
VIPNET, Vigyan Prasar working under the
aegis of Ministry of Science and Technology,
government of India. The moon was the first object to flash in the sky. Then Jupiter, Mars
and Saturn gradually came up for the show. The students observed these celestial objects
through Cassegrain telescopes. The surface of the moon and the Saturn disc were main
center of attraction.
REMEMBERING GANDHI On the occasion of the 150th Birth anniversary of
Mahatma Gandhi, students of class VIII-B organized
a special assembly by enacting a Street Play. The
theme of the Street Play was, How Mohandas
Karamchand Gandhi became Mahatma Gandhi or the
Father of the Nation, who fought against the mighty
British Empire, without any arms, and brought India
Independence.
SPECTRUM- An Ode to Gandhi A superb amalgamation of intrinsic
ingenuity, imagination with originality and
inventiveness was vividly observed at
CSGN during the annual inter school fest-
‘Spectrum-2018’, An Ode to Gandhi’
from 29th to 30th October,2018 that
showcased Gandhi’s ideologies and
philosophy. The Chief Guest for the event
Mr. Annamalai, Director of National
Gandhi Museum appreciated and
applauded the participants for their exuberance and zeal in showcasing Gandhi’s
ideologies and philosophy. He was extremely impressed with the concept of ‘Reliving
Gandhi’ and congratulated the school for taking such an initiative! The Guest of Honour
Ms. Paridhi Gaurav Sharma, Chairperson of ‘Sankalp for Khadi’ was particularly
impressed by the students who through drama highlighted Khadi as the ‘freedom fabric’.
SPECTACLES OF SCIENCE- A SCIENCE EXHIBITION The annual Science exhibition
‘Spectacles of Science’ was held
on 29th December 2018. Class-
wise themes were given to the
students from std. VI to Std. IX.
Aviral Chauhan and Priyanshu
Sharma bagged the first position
whereas Aarush Verma of Class
IX got second position on the
theme of Waste management and water conservation. For std.
VIII, the theme was Machines and Light. In this category,
Prakhar Dhanesh Mavi’s model of a mechanical device to lift marbles and other loads got the first
position and Ankit Singh’s Spy car got the second position. In class VII category with the theme ‘Fun
with Electricity and Magnetism’, Vaishnavi Kumari and Radhika Basista took the first position while
Divyanshu Jha and Prisha Agarwal got second. For class VI, the theme given was ‘Air and Pressure’.
Anant Dubey and Kartavya Chauhan bagged the first position while Bhavik Paliwal and Shaurya Gupta
got the second position. Since the exhibition was held on the PTM day, parents got an opportunity to
see the exhibits which clearly reflected the conceptual hold of students on science. The effort of
participants was lauded by the sudents.

EUPHORIA ’18- Psychology Fest Dr. Jitendra Nagpal, renowned Psychiatrist & HOD
of Department of Mental Health& Behavioural
Sciences at Moolchand Medicity presided as Chief
Guest at Euphoria 2018 – an Interschool
Psychology Fest conducted on Friday,
16th November 2018. The theme of
the fest was “Young people and
mental health in a changing world”.
AN ENCOUNTER WITH DANSEUSE
KAVITA DWIBEDI The entire school watched mesmerized as
renowned Odissi dancer Ms. Kavita Dwibedi under
the aegis of SPIC MACAY performed at
Cambridge School, Greater Noida. This being the
first ever SPIC MACAY Program at Cambridge
School, Greater Noida it was indeed a highly
enriching experience for the students helping them
to understand and appreciate India’s rich cultural
heritage.
VACCINATION CAMP To eliminate and control Rubella/CRS (Congenital
Rubella Syndrome) by 2020, a wide spread
campaign camp was launched by the Government all
over the country covering all children starting from 9
months to below 15 years of age group. 2 days long
camp was held in Cambridge School, Greater Noida
on the 24th & 29th December, 2018.
VVM EXAM- Scaling New Horizons Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan, a national level exam
initiated by Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) in collaboration
with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization
under the Department of Science and Technology,
Government of India and NCERT was held on
28.11.2018 in the school. It was an online exam and
for the first time, 64 students took this app-based exam
on their mobile phones. It was a great exposure for the
students. We expect a higher participation in the exam
in coming years.
NCC DAY CELEBRATION 31UP Girls Battalion Greater Noida
Gautam Buddh Nagar celebrated NCC Day
held at Savatri Bai Phooley School Greater
Noida. CSGN NCC girls won 2nd prize in
the group song category and also 2nd
position in drill competition. Anushka
Chettri of class XI won a gold medal and
Nikita Sharma won a silver medal in senior
category for drill competition. Kashish
Bhati won a gold medal in drill
competition.
NCC CAMP The girls of Cambridge School Greater Noida
exhibited their immense talent by participating in
a camp organized at Gautam Buddh University
Greater Noida from 11th Dec to 19th Dec 2018.
The girls performed all their tasks with great zeal
and fervor, in the true spirit of being NCC Cadets.
Int House Competitions: Bringing talent to the fore!
INTER-HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION
Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students creative room to express what they
feel. The Inter house Debate competition for the juniors (standard V11- IX) was held on 17
Nov,2018. The topic was “Importance of Gandhian principles in today’s world”. The participants, armed with statistics and data made their arguments more emphatic with their
expressions, body language and gestures. All the teams exhibited great debating skills but
finally the teams that were declared winners were Aravali at first position and Shivalik house
stood second.
Inter INTER HOUSE HINDI DECLAMATION COMPETITION was held on 19 July’18. The
topic for classes VII-IX was “Vigyaan ke Badhate
Charan”. The topic for classes X-XII was
“Vishwastar par Bharat Ki Badhati Saakh”. For the
seniors Nigiri house stood first, Aravali and
Jayantia came second and Vindhya was awarded
with the third prize.
AN INTER –HOUSE SCIENCE QUIZ was
conducted for the students of classes VI & VIII on 11 December 2018. The competition aimed
at nurturing and developing an interest for the Science among students and teachers. It aimed
to sensitize and create a conscious awareness among the students about the role of Indian
scientists in the growth and development of the Sciences. The children were asked to research
and prepare about the life and important works of eminent scientists Dr. Chandrasekhara
Venkata Raman, Dr. Subramanyam Chandrashekhar, and Satyendra Nath Bose. Aravali
House stood first and Nilgiri house stood second in the Quiz competition.

by speeding its way into the semi-finals.
Once again, Cambridge school Athletics
Team rocked the JBM inter School
Athletics meet. Pratyasha Mukherjee of
Class 4th won Bronze medal in (U-10) 100
mts. Avnish Bhati of Class 11th won Gold
medal in (U-19) Long Jump and Bronze
medal in 100 mts. Rohit Chauhan of Class
12th Won 2 Gold medals in (U-19) Shot Put
and Discuss Throw.
CSGN added one more feather to its cap by
participating in the AC Deb Memorial inter school
cricket tournament U-14 held at Cambridge School
Noida from 18th Dec to 28th Dec’18. CSGN boys
scored a
stunning
victory in
the first
match by
beating
S.M. Arya
Delhi by 54 runs. Abhishek Bhati was
declared the Man of the Match.
Pirouetting her way to the National Championship! Nancy Prasad of Class XI of Cambridge School,
Greater Noida rightly called the nimble feet of the
school won laurels in the recently held Dance
Championship conducted by the Dance Sports
Association of Uttar Pradesh at Moradabad. Nancy
won a gold medal in the semi classical category in
the age group of 13-16 years. She gave a stunning
performance and qualified for the National
Championship to be held in Jammu later. The
budding dancer was felicitated by the School
Principal Dr. Rekha Bhushan in the school
assembly who wished her luck for her future
endeavours.
A proud achievement for the School by its
teachers Ms. Vinti Verma PGT Biology and
Ms. Ranjana Saini TGT Science whose
research paper on ‘Innovation in Science-
Communications’ was selected for the 9th
National Teacher Science Congress, 2018.
The paper was coauthored by both teachers
based on the innovative teaching pedagogy
being practiced by them. Among the
teachers from all over India Ms. Vinti also
presented her paper at NTSC Centre
Ahmedabad on 16th Dec’18.
WORKSHOPS&SEMINARS
Seminar on Juvenile Aggression- Innocence lost Ms. Priyam Kapoor, PGT Psychology presented a
seminar for the staff members on 29th November ’18
on Juvenile Aggression. The seminar started with a
presentation of case studies. Further the concept of
aggression, its types was explained. The causes of
aggression - biological, psychological and role of
hormones like serotonin, Dopamine etc was also taken
up.Parents’ role is crucial in identifying the triggers of
adolescents’ aggression and timely intervention.
Lastly strategies to control aggression was discussed.
Dr. Rekha Bhushan, Principal, emphasized on parents
to be vigilant and sensitive to the needs of the young
adolescents which can be achieved by spending quality
time with them.
Physics Seminar A seminar was conducted by the Physics department on 17th December 2018 at Cambridge School Greater
Noida. The topic was ‘The Scope and Excitement of Physics’. It aimed at creating an attitude of appreciation
for the subject, even if one does not go into its intricacies. The various disciplines of the subject, its evolution
from 17th century till date, role of Physics in industrial revolution and scientific revolution across the globe
and most importantly, contribution of Physics in today’s modern-day information and communication
technology were the main features that were discussed in the seminar. The visuals in the presentation kept the
audience glued to the screen, which showed the role of Physics in everyday life also. ‘Physics in life, Physics
is life’ was the message given by the speakers Ms. Suman Tewari and Ms. Nidhi Sharma. The seminar was
highly appreciated by the entire audience.
Learning is fun with Theater in Education!
R.K Narayan’s ‘Malgudi days’ was brought alive on stage by the students of class VIII through a wonderful
enactment based on the story The Hero. The unforgettable characters like the adorable Swami, his
grandmother, his best friend Rajan and others were brilliantly portrayed by the students. The dramatization
was further enhanced by the song “Trouble will
find you” sung by the students.
Business Matters! The commerce students of XI B presented a
theatre in education on the topic ‘International
Business’ highlighting the stages of export trade
on 28th Dec. 2018. The students quite
successfully nailed the objective of the
presentation by bringing forth the different stages
involved in Export Business and its formalities.
Tours & Excursions
Visit to Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan – The students
of class XII C visited a special school - Mata Bhagwanti
Chadha Niketan on 26 Nov’18 as a part of their curriculum
to get first hand information about the challenges faced by
the children in such homes . This was basically a sensitisation
program to make them aware about different types of
psychological concerns like autism, intellectual difficulty
,visually impaired and auditory challenged children.
Trip to Science Museum Keeping in view the aspirations of an interface with
Science and its activities, the e class IX students went to
National Science Museum on 13TH Nov.,2018.
The museum, one of the biggest science centre in the
country is set up with the aim of allowing children to
explore, experiment and have fun with science. The
children were spellbound to see such a wide array of
magic tricks like the magic tap which apparently gushed
forth water suspended in space without any inlet and a
harp , created music merely by moving one’s hands in the
air.
Trip to National Museum An educational trip was organized by the school to the
National Museum, Delhi for the students of class VI on
19th of December 2018. The visit proved to be a great way
to arouse curiosity in the minds of our students and was a
motivating experience. The students took a tour of the
following galleries- Harappan Civilisation, Mauryan
Dynasty, Kushana and Gupta Dynasty, Buddhist,
Miniature Paintings, Decorative Arts, Coins, Tribal Arts
and Musical instruments gallery. A movie on Harappan
civilization was also shown to students in the Museum.
Overall it was a great learning experience for the students.
TRIP TO JAISALMER AND JODHPUR
There are different ways to provide education to the
students-out of which the most creative and alive is
conducting educational tours. CSGN organised an
educational tour to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, two extremely
popular tourist destinations of Rajasthan for five days for
students from classes VI to VIII to add fun and interest to
their education.
On reaching Jodhpur the students headed for the famous
Umed Bhawan Palace. They also visited the famous Mandor garden and were enchanted by the beautiful temples. On 25th December, students returned from the
tour with lot of happy memories.

our students came back
with countless …
Students enjoyed boating at Gadisor Lake and had a great time afterwards shopping in the local market for traditional souvenirs. Camel safari on sand dunes were such fun…that the giggles could be heard miles away!
