Lenten Stations of the Cross All are welcome to pray the Stations of the Cross each Thursday evening in Spanish and Friday evening in English at 7:15 p.m. dur-ing Lent in the main church (Following the Daily Mass) I strongly encourage that everyone in the parish please take the opportunity to participate in this wonderful Lenten tradition. I especially encour-age all parish groups and organizations to participate in the parish Stations of the Cross.
Estaciones de la Cruz Cuaresmal Todos son Bienvenidos a rezar el vía crucis cada jueves por la no-che en español y los viernes por la tarde en inglés en 7:15 p.m. du-rante la Cuaresma en la iglesia principal (siguiendo la Misa dia-ria). March 19th is the Feast of St. Joseph, the protector of the Universal
Church. In honor of our patron saint, we will have three Masses on
March 19th: 8AM (English), 6PM (Bilingual) and 7:30PM
(Bilingual). Please join me giving thanks to almighty God as we
celebrate the patron saint of the Universal Church.

El 19 de marzo es la fiesta de San José, el protector de la Iglesia
Universal. En honor a nuestro patrón, tendremos tres misas el 19

Reflection:
On Wednesday, March 1st was Ash Wednesday, marking the be-
ginning of Lent. Now that we have entered this wonderful season,
the Church gives each of us the opportunity to reflect on our lives
as to discerning our relationship with Him as well as with each oth-
er. I would like to offer the following prayer for the First Week of
Lent. It is my hope and prayer that you will pray together each
night together as a family.

El miércoles, 1 de marzo es miércoles de ceniza y marca el comien-
zo de la Cuaresma. Ahora que hemos entrado en esta maravillosa
estación, la iglesia da a cada uno de nosotros la oportunidad de re-
flexionar sobre nuestras vidas en cuanto a discernir nuestra relación
con él, así como con los demás. Me gustaría ofrecer la siguiente
oración para la primera semana de Cuaresma. Es mi esperanza y
oración que oréis juntos cada noche como familia.
Daily Mass Change
During the Season of Lent, the Daily Mass for Thursday and Friday
will be held in the Main Church, Immediately following the Mass
there will be Stations of the Cross in the Main Church

Durante la temporada de Cuaresma, la Misa diaria para el jueves y

(This prayer is designed to be said within the family before a Crucifix during the first week of Lent) Parent or child: Dearly beloved, we entreat you not receive the grace of God in vain. For he says: “in an acceptable time I have beard you, and the in the day of salvation I have helped you. Behold, now is the accepta-ble time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” From the words of St. Paul (2Cor. 6:1-2) Parent: This time of fasting has opened to us the gates of paradise. Let us accept it, praying and beseeching. All: That on the day of resurrection we may be glorified in the Lord. Parent: Let us pray. Through the observance of lent, O Lord, You purify Your Church every year. See to it that your children lead a better life and so obtain the graces they are striving to acquire by doing penance. This we ask of you through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son our Lord. All: Amen. Parent: Favor this dwelling, Lord, with your presence. Far from it repulse all the wiles of Satan. Your Holy angels, let them live here, to keep us in peace. And may your blessing remain always upon us. Our Lenten Penance Service is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, 2017 at
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. in the main Church. This is a
wonderful opportunity to prepare for Holy Week and to celebrate the Res-
urrection of our Lord

Marian Pilgrimage to Portugal/Spain/France In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, I will be hosting a pilgrimage to various Marian Shrines. We will visit the shrines of Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Mont-serrat just to mention a few. The dates of travel are No-vember 6th – 17th, 2017. The price of the pilgrimage is $3,198 (12 Days/10 Nights); it includes round trip air from Austin; hotel accommodations, double occupancy; breakfast and dinner daily; deluxe, private motor coach; English speaking Tour Guide and more. Candles… Gentle Reminder!
As a reminder, please only use approved candles on the property of
the church especially in the grotto. I am still finding candles that
are not made of 51% Bees Wax in the grotto. The approved can-
dles may be purchased at the Sacred Heart Book Store or in the
parish office. Candles that are not made of the 51% Bees Wax will
be removed. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

During the month of December, 19 neighbors were assisted with HEB gift cards, rent, utilities, prescriptions, motel stay, furniture and clothes vouchers. Total donated funds expended in support of our community in need was $3,517.00.
In the month of January, 21 neighbors were assisted with rent, motel stay, utilities, HEB gift cards, bus passes and furniture vouchers. Total donated funds expended in support of our community in need was $3,512.00. Your support is very important to those in need. GOD BLESS YOU!

Durante el mes de diciembre, 19 prójimos/vecinos fueron ayudados con cartas de HEB, renta, utilidades, estancia en el hotel, vales de muebles y ropa. Total donamos $3,517.00 para ayudar a nuestra comunidad en necesidad.
