ACTS Retreat - Bay City Men’s Spanish We invite you to participate with us on an

extraordinary weekend. It will be an opportunity

for spiritual renewal. The retreat begins on

Thursday, March 19, with registration at Our Lady

of Guadalupe at 5:30 pm. Transportation to and

from the retreat center (Baptist Encampment

Center, Palacios) - will be provided for partici-

pants and ends on Sunday, March 22 with a mass at

12 p.m. @ OLG Bay City.

The cost per participant is $175. A $50 deposit

must be filed with this application to reserve your

place at the retreat. The rest is paid at the time of

registration before the start of the retreat.

This event focuses on how to lead our families,

parishes, and communities. We will start by

praying the Holy Rosary together for our families

and nation, then Bishop Cahill will celebrate Mass.

Next, speaker Damon West (featured on EWTN,

speaker to major NCAA football programs such as

Alabama and Clemson) will speak. After playing

football at the University of North Texas, Damon

fell into drugs and crime after college, being

sentenced to life in prison. While behind bars, he

turned his life around with the help of God, and is

now free and spreads a message of hope and

redemption. Tickets are $10, breakfast

included.

1. Marriage Ambassadors Gathering (this summer –

training and fellowship for anyone involved in mar-

riage ministry, or those who would like to get in-

volved)

2. Natural Family Planning Resources (we now have

3 trained facilitators for NFP in the diocese, hosting

intro sessions and available for 1:1 consultations)

Prayer and Spirituality This course with explore the many methods people have used to keep-

ing their love relationship with God. Various methods of prayer will be

explored and practiced including oral prayer, praying with Scripture and

contemplative prayer.

W e would like to invite all the parishioners

of St. Robert’s to join in the “Burning of

the Palms” by bringing your palms from

last year’s Palm Sunday Mass. Please bring the

palms to Mass on the 23rd or bring them before 5:00

pm. We will burn the palms and use the ashes for

this Ash Wednesday. “We must remember the im-

portance of the imposition of ashes on Ash Wednes-

day, how the ashes remind us that we are mortal —

that we are God’s creations.”

We will have a pot luck dinner afterwards so bring

your favorite covered dish. AND… we can’t forget

capirotada. We will have a capirotada contest, so

bring your best CAPIROTADA to the contest table

where it will be judged and a winner will be

announced.

Dear Parishioners, I hope you are enjoying the many ways in which we continue to grow together as a parish, especially with the new

gifts and talents of our music director Joe Holik. Our choirs are growing and so is our singing at mass! Another way in which we have been growing is now having the availability of on-line giving! Are you tired of

searching for the appropriate bills to give your first fruits at mass? No problem! You can now give through our

parish website through a direct withdraw from your checking account or through your credit card. You can make

offerings occur every week or once a month through on-line giving. Just check which one you prefer. I prefer to use

my credit card and have it charged every week. For recordkeeping and credit purposes, if you do on-line giving

please continue to turn in your weekly envelope with your name, amount, and simply write "on-line giving" at the

top of your envelope. This is just another way in which we can continue to grow in our faith by making the

conscious decision to donate our first fruits each week. Please visit https://sanrobertochurch.org/donations to

make your weekly contribution on-line. Finally, we are also preparing for the greatest season of growth, which is the Season of Lent! Lent is not a church

sponsored weight loss program, but a time when we more closely follow the commands of God and even make

rules for ourselves in order to discipline our lives so that we can be the saints God calls us to be. Start to pray about

how you are called by God to live out this Season of Lent. We will be preparing through our Mardi Gras

celebration on Sunday, February 23 at 5 PM with the burning of palms to make the Ash Wednesday ashes, a

potluck meal and a capirotada contest! Bring the whole family in order to prepare for Lent, the Season of Growth!
