Both Luiz Fernando andMaria Joyce have started to work. Marcelo, their oldestboy, is living with L. David's nephew Steven Sanders, inIowa and going to high school. He has had to adapt toeverything new.. . especially a new language... and now the

At a banquet given by his firm on the 25th of January,Daryl Bruce was honored as the best employee of theyear .Pamela, Daryl s wife wrote me that Richie would beracing his small car. This worried grandma and I asked i fi t wasn t rather a dangerous thing for him to be doing?? Ifound out that i t is a l i t t le miniature car on a ranp inthe cafeteria a t his school. Rustie, who is quite tall , isdoing great a t Jbas te^al l . ^ Richie is involved in CubScouts and ICatie i s singing in the chi ldren s choir a tc h u r c h .

Kyula and husband, Junior, Kaliula and Kevan (Starla schildren living in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. studying andworking) drove up to South Carolina to spend Christinas withDaryl s and Maria s. We rejoiced that they could a ll betogether. This is the first time in 20 years that DarylBruce has had any of his Brazilian family with him a tCh r i s tm a s .

children and it was rea l ly inspir ing to see and hear t he i rchildren's choir singing Christmas hymns. Many of thesechildren, not so long ago, had been sniffing glue on thestr ts

Since Christinas we have had some sick spel ls , soremuscles, high blood pressure, but are able to keep busy andhappy in working with the loca l churches ( there are now 55congregations in the Federal Dis t r ic t and jus t beforeChristmas they came together for 90 baptisms).right now L.David is going out (30 kilometers) every day helping inreforming the water system. . . (nearby vi l lagers have beentaking baths and washing clothes in our springs and a horsef e l l in the water supply and d ied . . . ,

The Integrated Life Project had a Corn Day onFebruary 27th, official national Day for the Elderly . Therewere varied types of foods made from corn as well asceramics painted by the elderly and a bazaar for those whocame to visi t us that day. There was a ThanksgivingService in th e afternoon in grat i tude for the renewal ofthe land contract and for Lloyd David's 81st birthday.

We ask for prayer in this New Year especially forfinancial support for Starla Joy and Luiz Carlos in theirwork wi th th e S t r e e t Chi ldren in Rec i fe .
