November has been a month of amazing meals in our clubroom and great fellowship. The board hosted our annual oyster roast this month. It was a great success and everyone had a great time. Thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers for helping make this amazing event hap- pen year in and year out. December is a great and very busy month for all of us at the San- ford Elks Lodge. Please mark in your calendars and plan to attend one or multiple of these events. There will be events for kids, adults, and everyone in between. On December 1st, the Sanford Elks Lodge will host our annual Memorial Service for our four fallen members of 2019. I hope all of you have had an amazing November and enjoyed a great Thanksgiving with friends and family. November has been a month of amazing meals in our clubroom and great fellowship. The board hosted our annual oyster roast this month. It was a great success and everyone had a great time. Thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers for helping make this amazing event hap-pen year in and year out. December is a great and very busy month for all of us at the San-ford Elks Lodge. Please plan to attend this event, the Board values this day as the most important event of our Elk year. An Elk is never forgotten, never forsaken. On December 14th, volunteers from your Elks Lodge will be delivering fruit baskets to the widows of our de-ceased members. If you would like to volunteer, contact Lecturing Knight Alex Voytik or myself. We will meet at the clubroom at 8:30 am. This is a rewarding and great event that all of our members should try at least one time. On December 15th, the Elks Board will be hosting a Cookies With Santa event for all the children and adults of our Lodge. Come out and enjoy a cookie, some Christmas games, and take your picture with Santa. On December 20th, Tim Sinnott and his clubroom staff is proud to host our annual Managers Treat from 5:30-7:00. After the Managers Treat, we will have a DJ for the evening and plenty of food and drinks for all to celebrate Christmas together! Please come out and enjoy everyone’s company. Manager’s Corner

Loyal Elks members!!

Happy Holidays and welcome to December. I must state again how glad I am to see so many new faces in the club and enjoying their membership. When you do stop by, please notice the new beverages available at the bar. We have a great variety of beers and liquors to make your favorite drink and quench your thirst. Be sure to ask the bartender or look at the chalkboard to see what might enhance your taste buds. PLEASE ACCESS the newsletter. The newsletter provides everything you need to know about the current months’ activities!

MANAGERS TREAT: Friday, Dec 20 from 5:30 -7:00 P.M. we will have a huge variety of food and all the beer and food is free for that time period. Come on in and have a good time visiting with good friends and friends you might not have seen for a long time. It’s always a great time so please don’t miss out on the fun. From 7:00 to 10:30 will be a Christmas party, so come on in!

Get your UGLY SWEATER because there will be an Ugly Sweater contest with a prize for the top winners. Bet Mine’s uglier than yours!!!

There will be a DJ from 7:30 -10:30 and DJ MIKE is a good one!!

Basket of Cheer: Tickets are available for the annual liquor basket. It’s a great little addition to your home bar. When visiting the club, you can get tickets at the bar,. Don’t miss out !!!

Tip of the Antlers! A great big “hoof clappin” Tip of the Antlers to:

Barry Gunter for driving to Wilmington to pick up the oysters for the oyster roast.

Richard Hall and his cooking crew for steaming the oysters and to Gordon Anderson for going the gumbo.

Nathan Cochrane, Addison Johnson, Steve Johnson for working the door during the oyster roast.

Scott Pace for lining up the setup and clean up crews and for getting all our sponsors.

Elks Memorial Service - December 1

The officers of Sanford Elks Lodge #1679 of the BENEVOLENT and PROTECTIVE ORDER

of ELKS would like to invite you and your family and friends to our

annual Memorial Service on Sunday, December 1, 2019. The ceremony will begin

at 2:00 p.m. and take place in our Lodge’s banquet room.

Fruit Baskets Delivery

The Sanford Elks Lodge remembers the widows of our departed members by de-livering fruit baskets during the holiday season. This year we will be making the deliveries on Saturday, December 14th.

This is a very special and heart felt Elks activity. If you would like to help with this event, please contact our Exalted Ruler, Nathan Cochrane at [email protected] and plan to meet at the lodge at 8:30 AM on the 14th get your list and baskets to deliver.

3 Alarm Toy Drive

Help our lodge demonstrate the Elks motto: Elks Care - Elks Share.

Please drop an “unwrapped” toy for any age in the box at the Lodge and

bring a smile to a child's face this Christmas season.

Drop off deadline is December 18th.

Christmas Cash Fund Raiser

Everyone should be receiving a letter from the Lodge containing raffle tickets for a $1,000 (1st prize) and $500 (2nd prize) CASH giveaway! Funds will go toward lodge and pool improvements.

The tickets are $25.00 each. Please consider buying one, two, or more for your chance to be one of the big winners.

The ticket stubs and checks should be either mailed or dropped off at the Lodge by December 20 for the drawing.

3 Alarm Toy Drive

Our Lodge is supporting the local fire departments 3 alarm toy drive. Toys will be given to the Chil-dren’s Burn Center. A drop box is setup at the Lodge for you to leave your donation. Please have all donation to the Lodge by December 18th.

Manager’s Treat

Club manager, Tim Sinnott will be hosting his managers treat on Friday, December 20th from 5 to 7 pm. The clubroom will remain open after 7 with a cash bar. Contact Tim for more details. Email: [email protected]. (Or see the Manager’s Corner in this newsletter)
