Sanghamitra School owes its origin to Sanghamitra foundation a society registered with the Government of A.P.(1990) The school was established in the year 1990 to impart not only education but to instill self confidence, creative thinking so as to enable to stand on ones own feet and to Realise responsibility towards society. The school is located on 2.00 acre site on Nizampet Road, Hydernagar village, Kukatpally, Hyderabad. The medium of instruction is English. Hindi is second language and the third language is Telugu. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The affiliation number is 130131/96. Methods Employed:

In order to make learning a pleasure the school employs traditional and playway methods of teaching. Utmost priority is given to experimentation and observation to arouse the spirit of enquiry in the child. Project works, field trips are part of the curriculum.

Facilities:Laboratory:All the labs (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) are equipped as per CBSE nooms. The labs are headed by senior science teachers of the school. The school also has a Maths Lab where students are exposed to Geometric shapes and activities which are useful in day to day life.

Computers:The Computer lab has three labs with sixty systems and three faculty members. The school has a tie up with IL & FS for syllabus support. At the end of academic year a certificate is awarded. Children from class II have computer classes, project based learning is a part of the computer syllabus from classes IV onwards.

Audio Visual Aids:It has become a norm to have Audio visual facilities in Schools. The school has LCD projector and a good collection of DVDs for entertainment and education. Mobile Audio Visual Aids are being used as and when required.

Sports:The sporting field is also given equal importance. Students have always been encouraged to participate in their field of sports.

AthleticsAt the CBSE Atheltics cluster meet at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans BHEL our students performed creditably bagging one gold and four silver medals. They were placed first in the 400m race in the under 19 category and second in the 300m & 1500m race and in the 4x400 in relay in the same category. In the 4x100m relay in the under 19 category, our children were placed third with a bronze medal. Of the 54 schools that participated we were placed in the 11th position.

The children of classes VIII , IX , and X have taken part in the South Zone CBSE Cluster 7 Athletic Meet held at Swaminarayan Gurukul form 7th to 9th September,06 and have proven that THE RESULT OF A HARD FIGHT IS A PRAISE WORTHY VICTORY. They have brought glory to the school by winning medals in Gold, Silver and Bronze. Following is the analysis:

Hand ball

Participating in the CBSE south zone meet our boys reached the finals in the hand ball match to play against Naval

Public School, Vishakapatnam. There were declared the runners, thereby qualifying for the finals. Yet another credit to our boys in the A.K.Khan Memorial Tournament. They emerged winners in the handball match played against Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Library:Consists of a vast collection of books on varied subjects for borrowing and reference.Books kindle ones imagination and also enhance the vocabulary. To inculcate the habit of reading a book club for classes I to V was started. Children were asked to bring book to their standards. These books are circulated among the students of the class. At the end of the year every child will be get back his book. Children not only get to read the books, but also learn to maintain the book neatly.

Health:Value of nutritious food is imbibed within the children by observing Nutrition week. In that particular week, children are to bring one nutritious item every day. The food items various benefits are highlighted through charts.

Performing Arts:Dance, drama and skit are conducted on Saturdays on a regular basis vocal training in classical music(Carnatic) is imparted.

Faculty:Secretary Cum Correspondent:Mrs G.Arundathi B.S.W. M.Ed. M.Phil is the correspondent who is actively involved in the day to day activities of the school. Her aim is not only to teach but also imbibe children with human values. Which stand them in good stead in the days to come. Any institutions backbone is its working force. Sanghamitra School is proud to have a dedicated and disciplined staff. The attrition rate is negligible this speaks volumes about staffs commitment and working conditions of the institute.

Activities:NGC: (National Green Corps)The school is a member if National Green Corps. The A.P. chapter has awarded a clean & green certificate to the school. NGC activities are not only school based but also community based. We also received an award from the former chief. minister Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu for presenting the school rain harvesting model in an exhibition.

School & Society:To emphasise the schools underlying philosophy of ones responsibility towards society. Children are made aware of the disparities, differences and indifference of society towards their bretheren. Trips are organized to old age homes, blind children are invited to give cultural programmes and physically and mentally challenged children comeover to school to interact with children.

Co-Curricular:LAB DAYTo make aware of the science lab, the equipments were displayed in the school auditorium by the students of class IX in the month of March. With the assistance of Science teachers, experiments were performed to motivate creativity, team-spirit and co-operation. The children of classes I to X were enlightened with the display.

INDEPENDENCE DAY The Independence Day Celebrations went on with G. CHANAKYA , the school topper for the year 2005-06, hoisting the flag. It is a privilege accorded to the topper in the board exam. He was accompanied by his parents and was presented the rolling shield sponsored by the Old Age Home for the best student. March Past and Mass Drill by the different Houses of the school had brought resplendence to the day.

NUTRITION WEEK

Nutrition A Secret of Healthy Living. In the era of pollution one needs to be his own physician.

To make the body constitution resistant and immune to diseases, the Science Department had organised Nutrition Week from August 1st to 8th . The most nutritious food was suggested to be eaten during this week. It was a successful week with the co-operation of the parents.

DANCE COMPETITIONTo tap the inner potential of the budding artists, Hindustan Lever has organised a dance competition Mera Star Super Star on 9th of August for children under 14 years. One of our students Tejaswini of class VIII participated in the same and her performance was note-worthy.

A noble task of extending a support to the distressed was organised on Teachers Day i.e., 5th of September.

The inmates of Old Age Home were honoured with clothes.

The students of Government School, Hydernagar were also invited to participate in the function and were gifted steel water storage drum and glasses. If a man be endowed with a generous mind, this would be the best kind of nobility one can persuade with. We await for many more occasions of this kind with enthusiasm.

INTRA - SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

UGADI CELEBRATIONS The Telugu New Year began on a colourful note. A Rangoli Competition for teachers was held in the auditorium of the school. The teachers were divided into groups. They participated actively and prizes were given to the best three groups.

SUMMER CAMP - CREATIVE SKILLS

It is rightly said A Sound Mind in a Sound Body. Recreation plays a vital role in developing a persons mental ability. It brings out the hidden skills and capabilities of a person. Relaxation from the routine and monotonous work helps a person boost up his morale and confidence.

Too help students utilize their valuable time in a creative way and to encourage them tap their potential, SUMMER CAMP was organised in ART & CRAFT, MUSIC and SPORTS. Under the guidance of Ms. Lakshmivalli, the students learnt embroidery, tile painting, glass painting, pot painting , decorating candles and flower making. MUSIC generates energy and helps in changing the mood of a person. The Sanskrit Slokas and Bhajans have an enchanting effect on the mind. Ms. Jayashree helped the students keep alive our Indian Culture. As said, All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. For the overall development of the personality one should be mentally and physically fit. The P.E.T Sir, Mr. Ramesh trained the students in Table Tennis, Shuttle and Hand Ball.

Other Activities:A Kind Deed: The staff and student of Sanghamitra school are always in the foreprint when a calamity strikes the nation or when a fellow being is in need. They generously contributed for the victims of earthquake at Latur, brave soldiers of the Kargil war and victims of Tsunami.

Regarding the later part the staff, student and the parent community contributed nearly three LAKHS towards the treatment of Namratha a fourth class student afflicted with Leukemia. Shailaja a B.E student suffered with C 5 injury due to an accident was gifted with a mechanized wheel chair and was monetarily supported towards her surgery expenses. This kind of extending a generous kind is not only to the immediate community but also at the National level Captain Bana Singh P.V.C, (Param Vir Chakra) hero of Siachen conflict, conqueror of Bana post was honoured and given a purse by the management and staff.

Exhibitions:To promote creative work in cooperation exhibitions on various topics like Discovery of India, Science & Technology are organized every year.

Elders Day

Help Age India touches thelives of 15 lakh elders through its services every year. It also voices the needs of Indias 81 million grey population to help them live with dignity, independence, and self-fulfillment. We, the Sanghamitra family are privileged to have celebrated the Elders Day at our school on the seventh of October, 2006. Grandparents of the students were invited for this programme. The volunteers from Help Age India enlightened us about the importance of grandparents. Students and teachers entertained them with cultural programmes. Six grandparents, selected through a lucky dip were given gifts.

Alumni M e e tVI batch Alumni Meet was held on23rd December. It provided a splendiferous chance for the students to revive their bygone memories.

Class party was held in the school for classes LKG to VIIIon 22nd and 23rd of December. This was an attempt made to relieve the children from the monotony of studies. The children who looked colourful really brought hue to Sanghamitra.

Farewell Party The Sanghamitra family bid adieu to the students, whowere going to take a leap into the new world. The IX class students organized the party on 3rd February, 2007, in which games and cultural programmes were held to relax their minds before appearing for their board exams. A presentation by Ms. Arundathi madam, which glanced into the 12 years of their camaraderie with Sanghamitra, touched their hearts.

A WORD OF PRAISE = A TON OF INSPIRATIONMan needs appreciation and boosting at every stage for better performance in the future. Cognizing this, the Students Appreciation Day is celebrated once in two years. This year Mr. Bana Singh, who stands as an inspiration for mankind, was invited as the Chief Guest. The meritorious students of 2004-05 and 2005-06 were honoured with cash prize and certificates. The students of IX and X classes were a part of the audience so that they get motivated to excel themselves in the forth-coming examinations. TOUCH OF PATRIOTISM The advent of Mr. Bana Singh filled Sanghamitra with an air of patriotism. Naib Subedar Bana Singh was born on 6th January, 1949 into a Punjabi Sikh family at Kadyal in Jammu and Kashmir. He enrolled in the Indian Army on 6th January, 1969 into the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI). Bana Singh was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, the highest wartime gallantry medal in India, for conspicuous bravery and leadership under most adverse conditions. The peak which he captured was renamed Bana Top in his honour. At the time of the Kargil War, he was the only PVC awardee who was still serving in the army.

Results:The 2006-2007 batch lived up to the expectations by making a towering progress in the subject averages and setting a challenging task for their juniors. C.Siva Kumar Kashyap and G.Sai Phanindra topped the school by securing 93.4%. We, the Sanghamitra family take pride that our child, A. Pavan Kumar who had been upholding his performance right from his childhood has now bagged remarkable ranks in the state and central level competitive examinations.

IIT Rank 107 AIEEE Rank 248 EAMCET Rank 36 BITSAT Score 411/450 Not only Pavan, his classmates Sri Harsha, Niharika, M.S.Chaitanya and Sandeep Reddy secured a seat in IIT. We are thankful to their parents for their cooperation.

Admissions:Sanghamitra School is a very close knit school where, the student strength is kept constant through all the years. This always allows admissions only into L.K.G every year for 70 students. The admissions are open in August every year. The School office can be contacted for the details. For the rest of the classes admissions will be given in accordance with any existing student of that class, leaving the school.
