Main Street, Santa Ana, CA $2.7 M 57 $5.2 M Affordable Units HOME+CDBG Investment Inclusionary Housing Funds PROPERTY DETAILS Meta Housing Corporation is developing an adaptive reuse project to convert an existing five-story office building to residential units and ground-floor commercial and community space. The project also consists of three new buildings, a courtyard, and new landscaping. The project includes an investment of $2,219,760 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds, $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, and $5,275,000 in the City of Santa Ana Inclusionary Housing Funds. The project will have a total of 57 affordable residential units to households earning between 30% (20 units), 35% (6 units), 40% (6 units) and 60% (25 units) of the Area Median Income. The project will offer a preference to applicants who are artists, with a process that would meet fair housing requirements and funding requirements. The proposed project also includes a community art gallery and art garden on the ground floor. The project will target working artist families within Santa Ana and will provide a community arts gallery, a marker space, a digital and media lab, music room, performing arts room, and resident services. EngAGE, the project’s service provider, will provide high-quality coordination services designed to improve the quality of life for tenants, including after-school tutoring, computer training, creativity programs, among others. This project will be one of the first projects under the City’s new adaptive reuse ordinance, the first affordable housing complex with an artist preference, and the first project funded with the City’s Inclusionary Housing Funds.
