Dear New Jersey District,

It with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself to you as your Lieutenant Governor of Division 8 for the 2015-2016-service year. My name is Sarah Remig and I am currently a junior at Point Pleasant Beach High School. Key Club has been the most impacting experience of my life thus far. Besides being inspired by the enjoyment of helping others, I cannot imagine where I would be without all of the amazing people and experiences that Key Club has brought me to. Other than Key Club I am an active member in my school's Honors Society, Mock Trial, Math & Science League, Interact Club, cheerleading squad, fall play, and spring musical.

In my freshman year, I went to a high school that did not have Key Club. It was not until my sophomore year starting at Point Pleasant Beach High School that my new Spanish Teacher, also the Key Club advisor, encouraged me to join. As the new kid I joined just to see what it was all about, and a short two years later it has become my life and has inspired me to be a better person. After attending International Convention this past July in Anaheim, California, I knew I wanted to be the lieutenant governor for Division 8. The amazing thing about Key Club is not only the millions of hours of service we do, which is without a doubt inspiring, but also the inspirational people we meet who change our lives and the ability to inspire others. I don't think I would be the person I am today without Key Club.

As Lieutenant Governor for the next service year, my goals are as follows:

Strengthen K-Family relations.

Have all club dues paid on time.

Have all officers trained by Fall Rally.

Increase club awareness and attendance at divisional events.

Keep Key Clubs in contact with one another.

Inspire the Key Club members of Division 8.

Since my training at Midwinter Conference in February I have been ecstatic to work with you all and to move Division 8 to be the best it can be! Please do not hesitate to contact me through phone, social media, or email with any questions.

Yours in Caring and Service,

Sarah Remig

2015-2016 District ProjectFood Banks of New Jersey

The new district project for the 2015-2016 service year are the Community Food Banks of New Jersey. 1 in 5 children in New Jersey is hungry. The Community Food Banks of New Jersey works tirelessly to lower the impact of this statistic. Every year the CFBNJ, a member of Feeding America, feed approximately 900,000 people. Through the help of New Jersey Key Club we can help many more in need of food. Many who receive help from this program have to make the choice between paying their bil ls or paying for dinner. CFBNJ is a wonderful organization that will help us strengthen people in our own communities. For division 8, our Community Food Bank is located in Neptune, NJ. Dear Division 8,

Hello, my name is Philip Jamison and I am the current president of the Point Pleasant Beach Key Club. Like most other people, I signed up my freshmen year not knowing what to expect. I thought Key Club would be dull and boring, but I am so ecstatic to have been wrong. Key Club turned out to be a fun, social and caring club that made my year. By the end of my freshmen year, I became my club?s treasurer and started getting more involved in the leadership position. While in that leadership position I realized that Key Club is more than a club, it is an outlet for service and an opportunity for everyone. Without Key Club I would have never volunteered in the community, be able to lead my fellow schoolmates

in an authoritative position, or go to Six Flags Great Adventure with my fellow key clubbers. Key Club allows me to do more, and I will be forever grateful of that.

Key Club also allows me to enjoy one of my weekends in Long Branch with other key clubbers from other schools at an event called DCON, or district convention. At DCON there are so many events going on such as dances, motivational speakers, award ceremonies, workshops, and the installation of the new district board. This jam-packed weekend allows me to learn so much from Key Club, and my position, that I did not know before. In the presidential workshop, I learned new and interesting ways to recruit members that I would have never learned before. At the event-planning workshop, I learned how to plan a successful event and learned more about committee systems. In my last workshop, public speaking, I learned how to be a better public speaker,

something vital to being president. Other than the workshops, I was motivated to do more in my home club, and the new district project, curing America?s hunger. Overall, DCON was a purely awesome convention that taught me so much.

In this service year I plan on doing so much, thanks to the help of DCON and my LTG, Sarah. My experiences from Key Club are invaluable, and the new ones I make will be equally amazing. I do not know what I would do if my little freshman self did not go to the Key Club meeting on that September day. Key Club has given wealth and knowledge, which I hope will be returned through a fantastic service year, full of successful projects, fundraisers and through its members. Yours in caring and service,

Phillip Jamison

International Convention is the gathering of thousands of Key Clubbers from districts all throughout Key Club International meeting in order to make connections, gain leadership experience, and elect the next International Board. This year's 72nd annual International Convention is being held in Indiannapolis, Indiana, the location of Kiwanis International Headquarters, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kiwanis. The centennial anniversary of Kiwanis makes this year's International Convention a legendary one. I highly encourage you to attend and please message me with any questions regarding this event.
