Accomplishing Prel iminary Step-Regional Abi lympics .

National Abilympics Association of India was handed over to SarthakEducational Trust on Dec 12, 2016, with the responsibility of hosting National

Abilympics for persons with disabilities followed by representing India inInternational Abilympics 2020. Last month, National Abilympics Association of

India and Sarthak Educational Trust took the preliminary step by hostingRegional Abilympics for PwD’s in East, South and North Zone of India.

The ultimate objective of the regional events for Persons with Disabilities was to

provide a platform where talent speaks louder than disability. And, with thisintent, skill competitions were organized in 10 different trades of ICT, Crafts, and

Food and witnessed participation of more than 450 PwD’s. The concern ofempowerment and inclusion of Persons with disabilities leads the regionalabilympics to a multi-opportunity platform where the regional conference,

career drive, and NGO meet were organized to strategize the plan of action tobuild a nation serving equality.

To motivate and boost the spirits of candidates, eminent personalities from

leading organizations like The Hans Foundation joined hands and facilitated usin screening the best talent from the pool of aspirants.

 The involvement of government organizations and bureaucrats like ShDebabrata Chattaraj, State Disability Commissioner, Government of West

Bengal, Sh Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Information Technology, Government ofTelangana, Sh TD Dhariyal, Commissioner for persons with disabilities,

Government of NCT of Delhi, graced the event and motivated participants toexhibit their best talents.

The presence and support of leading corporate houses during the regionalevents highlighted the concept of inclusion and willingness to enlist themamong equal opportunity employer. Foremost organizations like SarovarPortico, Aegis, Holiday Inn, Flipkart, Crown Plaza, Reliance Asian Paints,

Capgemini, Sonalika, Delhi International Airport Ltd and many more takeinitiatives in admiring the efforts and dedication of PwD’s and welcomed them

on-role by participating in career drive in each location.

Under the mentoring of Padma Bhushan Dr. MB Athreya, and support of ShKrishan Kalra, Dr. Sudhir Gupta, Sh. Lov Verma, Dr. VP Singh, Sh Sandeep

Bhargava, Sh Supriyo Gupta, Sh. Raj Kapur, Dr. Jitender Aggarwal andgoverning body of NAAI and Sarthak the event witnessed a grand success and

embarked on the journey of National Abilympics by nominating 26 GoldMedalist.

New Journey in Mumbai with Hotel Fern & Resort

Sarthak believes practical knowledge alwayshelps a trainee in grasping things with moreclarity. In this series,Sarthak organizes allied

activity every week to maintain balance betweenpractical and theory curriculum.

Last month,trainees of Sarthak Mumbai centervisited The Fern Hotel & Resort to understandthe roles and responsibilities of the hospitality

sector.

Career Drive in East,South and North Zone

In the series of Regional Abilympics 2018,career drives were organized in Kolkata,

Hyderabad, and Noida to providemultifarious opportunity to persons withDisabilities under a single roof. Active and

enthusiastic participation of corporate houseslike Aegis, Sarovar, Wipro, café coffee Day,

Sutherland, Sodexo, Concentrix, CrownPlaza, Intellnet Global and many more gavePersons with Disabilities a wider platform to

choose their dream job.

Guest Lecture with Mr Archana Sharma,State Advisory BoardMember,Sarthak

Sarthak is privileged to have such an activestate advisory board members that undertheir guidance the team and trainees are

learning a lot. Ludhiana center is glad to haveMs. Archana Sharma on board whosecontinuous support via guest lecture is

motivating the trainees to bring out best outof them.

Sarthak Bhopal center celebrated convocationof pass out batch in the presence of Sh

Mukesh Jain, Additional Director, General ofpolice. Interaction session with Sh MukeshJain motivated the trainees to keep up thegood work and reach new heights in their

Every month, Sarthak centers across Indiaconducts allied activities for trainees to

provide the hands-on training in respectivesectors and also to give a glimpse about roles

and responsibilities in IT/Ites, Hospitality andretail sector.Last month Sarthak Jaipur center

invited Mr. Deepak Sharma, Trainingofficer, Apex Info Pvt Ltd as a guest lecturerfor discussing with trainees the available job

roles in IT sector.

Turning Dream Into Real i ty .

I selected the champions of my team!

I still remember that bright day whenHR called me into her office and gaveme the news that senior managers areimpressed with my work and would

like to incorporate more visualimpaired candidates to company’s

workforce. And, would like to give theentire responsibility of hiring to me.

I was mum for a minute and wastrying to figure out what exactlyhappened. This was something

unexpected and was not at all listed inmy bucket list. Multiple thoughts startpopping my mind with lots of question

marks.

Is it a new opportunity knocking at my door? Will I be the reason for someone’s else smile?

How will I hire other Persons with Disabilities?

Plenty of queries WHAT?WHEN?WHO?HOW? started bombarding into my head.

Soon, I calmed down and understood the importance of this huge responsibility.

Today, I feel proud that my organization recognized my efforts and gave me anopportunity to be the flag bearer and enlighten others by providing them with

employment opportunity. My journey was not as simple, losing vision in early age had been a barrier to my growthsince childhood. With God's grace, I am always connected with like-minded people. There

are lot many people who at a different stage of life become the reason behind my smile.

But, Sarthak was among one of them whose constant psychological support andprofessional knowledge help me in reaching this platform and connected me to the world

of opportunities where the sky is not the limit.
