StudentThe option to open the student form automatically when you login has been added. The automatic opening of the student form is controlled by a preference setting in MAINTENANCE > SETUP > FORMS > PEOPLE. Tick the OPEN STUDENT FORM WHEN APPLICATION OPENS option to open the student form when you login to SAS2000. This preference setting is ticked by default.
When you have the student form set to open on startup and the reminder list set to open on start up; the student form opens first and the reminder list form opens over the top of the student form.

Staff AbsencesThe REPLACED BY list on the STAFF ABSENCE form has been changed to display only active staff. Previously all staff were listed. This makes it easier to select staff to cover the absence.

MedicareThe ability to find invalid MEDICARE NUMBERS using the colour code box has been added.
In query mode click on the icon to change the icons colour. Set it to:
● Red to find records with an incorrect medicare number. ● Green to find records with a correct medicare number. ● Yellow to not use the medicare number in the find.

Student Access RestrictionAn ACCESS RESTRICTION flag has been added to the MORE tab on the STUDENT, ENROLMENT and ALUMNI forms. This flag indicates that someone, usually a parent, is not allowed to pick up the child. The ACCESS RESTRICTION flag means you can quickly find the students with a current Access Restriction. It makes maintaining the access restriction to keep it up to date quicker and easier.

Family TreeThe FAMILY TREE view has been enhanced to make the information clearer.
● The text colour has been changed to black. This makes it easier to identify the enrolments who display in blue text and the alumni who display in purple text.
● The commencement year is now displayed for the enrolments. The students are listed with their year level and the alumni are listed with there class of year.
● Deceased contacts are displayed in light grey text with a blue deceased indicator after their name.

People RelationshipsThe RELATIONSHIP tab on the PEOPLE forms now displays deceased contacts in light grey. The Deceased indicator is still displayed on these contact. The different text colour makes it easier to identify that the contact has passed on. This makes the family situation clearer at a glance and also reduces the change of inadvertently asking for this contact and causing offence.
The colour codes used on the RELATIONSHIP tab are:

Student Mailing LabelsAn option to print mailing labels for contacts who are flagged as the primary mailing contact for students has been added to the STUDENT MAILING LABELS. The CONTACT (USE PRIMARY MAILING AS ADDRESSEE) option prints one label for the contact even when they are the primary mailing contact for several students.
Note: To print one label per student addressed to the primary mailing contact use the STUDENT (USE PRIMARY MAILING RESIDENTIAL GUARDIANS AS ADDRESSEE) and the STUDENT (USE PRIMARY MAILING NON-GUARDIANS AS ADDRESSEE) options.

Working With ChildrenThe ability to select a year level or class range has been added to the WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK LISTING. The option is available when the report is run to display the CONTACT information. This enhancement means you can easily see which contacts, for children in a particular year level, have their Working with Children Card and can be asked to do class room helping or assist with an excursion.

Waiting ListThe WAITING LIST has been enhanced to improve the information that is recorded and displayed. A waiting list priority has been added to the enrolment record. The waiting list form and report have been changed to make information relevant to the waiting list management process more accessible. The changes make it easier for you to track the waiting list and how many places you still have available.

Waiting List PriorityA WAITING LIST PRIORITY field has been added to the ENROLMENT > STATUS tab. This enables you to indicate any priorities that you need to take into consideration when placing the child. For example your school may give a higher priority to enrolments that have a sibling attending your school than those from new family.

Waiting List FormThe WAITING LIST form has been enhanced to make managing the waiting list easier. Columns have been added to display the waiting list priority, application date, application status and enrolment status of the children. This makes placing the child on the waiting list easier as the information used to decide where to place the child is visible on the form.
A SHOW ACCEPTED ENROLMENTS option has been added to the right side of the form. This enables you to view;
● enrolments who have a place, and ● enrolments who have been offered a place but the acceptance process is still to be confirmed or finalised
together on the screen. This makes it easier to see what places are still available in a particular year level. Untick this option to view the enrolments whose placement is still being finalised.
A count has been added beside the children names on the right side of the form so you can quickly see the number of children you are working with. The commencement year and entry year level fields have been combined into one field. This makes selecting a commencement year and year level easier.

Waiting List ReportThe ability to run the two sections of the waiting list report separately has been added. This enables you to select the appropriate report section for the task. The list of names on the waiting list can be printed for review. Or the summary can be printed to check the places available to the waiting list numbers.
The STUDENT WAITING LIST section on the WAITING LIST report has been changed to include the WAITING LIST PRIORITY and the APPLICATION STATUS. These fields record information that can be used to determine where the child is placed on the waiting list. Displaying them on the report means you can confirm why a child has been allocated a particular position on the waiting list.

People RelationshipsThe RELATIONSHIP tab on the PEOPLE forms has been enhanced to display additional information for future enrolments.
● The child's enrolment status, waiting list position and waiting list priority are listed below the enrolment's name. This makes the child's current position in the enrolment process easier to identify. You can easily identify if the child has a place, is still on the waiting list, has been declined by the school or the enrolment process has been discontinued by the parent. Having the information on the relationship tab means you can quickly access this information from any family member's record. You don't have to change to the enrolment's record to see the basic information. This can be useful when talking to a parent about a student and they ask how the enrolment of their other child is progressing.
● The enrolments entry year level is now displayed beside their name and commencement year on the relationship tab. This makes it easy to identify the academic year and the year level for the enrolment.

Enrolment List ReportThe ENROLMENT LIST report has been changed to include the enrolment STATUS, APPLICATION STATUS, waiting list PRIORITY and a WAITING LIST indicator. This change enables the child's current enrolment status to be easily identified on the report.

ExportsThe option to SET FORMATTING on numeric values in the exports has been added. The STANDARD option exports numbers and currency as text. This is the format that was used in previous versions of the program. The new PRESERVE NUMERICS option exports numbers and currency as numbers. Previously numbers and currency were exported as text only. The PRESERVE NUMERICS options makes using numbers and currency figures in excel calculations easier.

Aged Trial BalanceThe AGED TRIAL BALANCE report by instalments has been changed to make it easier to identify which debtors are overdue with their instalments.
Tick USE INSTALMENT SCHEDULE FIGURES on the AGED TRIAL BALANCE report to view the outstanding amount by instalment.
The Aged Trial Balance by Instalment report is grouped by the debtor classification eg weekly, fortnightly, monthly etcThe report lists the debtor's
● Code, name and phone number ● Last receipt received date ● Classification for instalments eg weekly, fortnightly, monthly etc ● Normal instalment amount ● Number of overdue instalments ● Total outstanding on all bills for the debtor ● Total outstanding on the instalments due up to the report date ● Aging based on the instalment periods for the debtor classification

Fee GenerationThe FEE GENERATION RUN DETAILS have been changed. The RUN DETAILS now list the bills in the generation that have been posted by any posting method. Previously only the postings from the Fee Generation form were listed. A REFRESH button has been added so you can recalculate any changes made to the run details while the form is open.

A PREVIOUS DEPRECIATION field has been added to the DEPRECIATION tab in the ASSET REGISTER. This field enables you to enter the depreciation that occurred before the asset was entered into SAS2000. The PREVIOUS DEPRECIATION field is only available with the straight line depreciation method.

Asset Disposal ReportThe DATE CRITERIA on the ASSET DISPOSAL report has been changed to DISPOSAL DATE FROM and DISPOSAL DATE TO. Previously the report used the purchase date for the date criteria. The date change enables you to easily report on which assets have been disposed of during a particular period.

Stocktake FormA CONDUCT STOCKTAKE FORM has been added to the ASSET REGISTER. The form provides a space for notes to be written and a count of the assets found to be entered. The form makes it easier for the person performing the stocktake to enter any location changes, condition details or additional information noticed during the stocktake.
The report can be grouped by; Status, Category, Location, Responsibility, Insurer or Purchased from.The report can be sorted by; Code, Status, Category, Location, Responsibility, Insurer or Purchased from.

Creditors ListingA new ONLY CREDITORS WITH NO ACTIVITY SINCE a specified date option has been added to the CREDITORS LISTING. Trial Balance SummaryTwo enhancements have been added to the TRIAL BALANCE SUMMARY report.
1. An ADD TO ACCOUNTS CONSOLIDATION option has been added. When this option is selected the GL accounts that are allocated to a specific add to account are listed below the add to account in the report. With this option not selected the GL account with a specific add to account are listed on the report according to the account setting.
2. A USE ENHANCED REPORT option has been added. Enhanced reports have an annotation option to add comments to the report prior to printing. You can also export the report by right clicking on the report and selecting from the available export formats. This enables you to customise the report and to distribute the report electronically instead of printing the report out.
On the enhanced trial balance summary report, click on a figure displayed in blue to open a detailed report on this amount.
The trial balance summary details report lists the ledger entries that make up the amount on the main report.

You can also export the report by right clicking on the report and selecting from the available export formats. This enables you to customise the report and to distribute the report electronically instead of printing the report out.
On the enhanced AFS / systemic reporting code report, click on a figure displayed in blue to open a detailed report on this amount.
The transaction details report lists the ledger entries that make up the amount on the main report.

InstalmentsThe instalments module has been enhanced. An INCLUDE IN THE 'DUE DATE' INSTALMENT option has been added to the NEW FEES setting. When this option is selected any new fees will be added to the instalments based on the DUE DATE entered on the BILL. For example: The instalment arrangement is that payments occur on the 25th of each month. A bill is raised on the 15 April with a due date of the 25th May. When the INCLUDE IN THE "DUE DATE' INSTALMENT option is selected the amount on the new bill will be added to the instalment amount for the 25th May.
To change the instalment schedule details for a contact.
1. Select PEOPLE > CONTACTS 2. FIND the contact 3. Select the PAYMENT tab 4. EDIT
Change the PAYMENT METHOD on the contact. The instalment schedule is now automatically updated to link the contact's future payments to the new payment method.
Change the instalment CLASSIFICATION on the contact. You are prompted to re-create the schedules. The completed schedules are not changed or deleted by the re-creation process. The outstanding schedules are changed to reflect the new payment arrangement with the contact.

The DELETE INSTALMENT SCHEDULES option on the PEOPLE > CONTACT > SCHEDULES tab has been enhanced to enable you to select which instalments are to be deleted. When you delete instalments the program will automatically re-create the instalments from the contact's instalment plan. This provides more control over the re-creation of the instalments.

Instalment StatementsThe option to include or exclude optional fees in the instalment totals displayed on the statements has been added. The INCLUDE VOLUNTARY FEES IN STATEMENTS option in the MAINTENANCE > SETUP > PRINTING (1) > STATEMENTS > INSTALMENTS section controls how the voluntary fees display on the instalment statements.Ticked the voluntary fees are included in the instalment amounts. Unticked the voluntary fees still display on the statement but they are not included in the instalment amounts.

Student NumbersApplies to: Victorian Catholic Schools.
The ability to have separate numbering systems for enrolments and students has been removed for Victorian Catholic Schools. The Catholic Education Office of Victoria requires that the children keep the same number from enrolment until they leave school. If you are currently using the two number systems a message will display asking you to contact support to discuss the process to change your database back to using a single student numbering system.

Victorian Student NumberApplies to: Schools in the state of Victoria.
A program check has been added to confirm Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 has been installed on the workstation. This program is required by the process used to send student information from SAS2000 to the Victorian Student Register. If Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is not installed on the workstation a message displays asking for the program to be installed.

Index LegendIn the index the product and the release that the index item refers to is identified by a code in brackets after the item. The code consists of the product identifier and the last section of the release number.
