In addition, the SATAB production is fully in-house, made-in-France and over 400 packages are delivered per day in 72 countries and over the 5 continents.

SATAB, the French and European narrow textile leader, is an independent, family run business.Set up since 1905 in the village of Saint-Just-Malmont, it creates, weaves, braids and knits ribbons, braids, webbing, cords, etc… Ever since its outset, it has flourished in the historical cradle of the ribbon and narrow textile tradition: the Saint-Etienne region.

The new e-NF range for e-Narrow Fabrics is a revolution dedicated to quick prototyping of smart textiles or e-textiles. Prior to the technical development, we can drive connected projects to become commercially viable. Conductive e-ribbon, tools, interface or even e-braid, this world first already has 4 patents and now represents a flexible interface between textiles and electronics.

This innovation and trend-centric laboratory is tasked with forward thinking the requirements and creating future products: unrivalled printing processes, stand-alone technical fibres, new applications, development of new materials, smart textiles, etc…

We also have a colour laboratory which creates 50 special colours per day in order to meet with the most sophisticated of requirements.

The SATAB LAB’ lies in the heart of the company and rounds up the Research and Development and Marketing teams.

This one-of-a-kind innovation laboratory in close to 1,000 m2 and houses 30 people working in liaison with each centre of expertise to come up with solutions to match all customer requirements.

65 traditional “shuttle” looms, the oldest of which dates back to 1874, churn out the SATAB ribbons with remarkable effects. They are absolutely ideal for producing ribbons with special edges, weaving high quality jacquards and ensuring optimum refinement to top of the range products!

Here in SATAB, we combine artisanal and industrial expertise. In Saint-Just-Malmont, 300 cutting edge needle looms boasting a production capacity of ribbons, braids or petershams roll out 5 million metres per week!

We also have the world’s biggest fleet of traditional working looms enabling us to be awarded the EVP (Living Heritage Company) label.

This fleet of old wooden “shuttle” looms calls for complex experience which is passed on within the company by the artisanal ribbon makers to the new generations.
