Sentry Solar Module

A solar + battery power source for the

SatAlarm-Sentry™

Features include: Strong magnetic feet – just set in place for a secure and solid install. No aligning or aiming the solar panel – the small solar panel is sized for a horizontal

install.** Pass-through I/O connectors – simply disconnect the I/O cable from the Sentry and plug it

into the Solar Module. When the module is connected to the Sentry with the included cable, all of the functions will remain the same.

Low Cost – less than the cost of two sets of batteries, this unit can last for 10 years or more.

For those customers who have an excessive amount of message traffic or for those who just want to save money and avoid the possibility of missing an alarm or scheduled message because of drained batteries.

This unit may save the cost of 5 – 10 sets of batteries, saving you hundreds of dollars.

Engineered for maximum output – in most locations the rugged 1-watt solar panel will keep the 4 rechargeable Hawker Cyclon™ batteries fully-charged with a minimum 28-day reserve for the Sentry to draw on.

Compact size – this weatherproof unit is only 10”x6”x3.5” and weighs about 10 lbs.

** In some higher latitudes, the customer may choose to mount the solar module at an angle toward the sun.

The SID is a microcontroller device designed

specifically to work with the SatAlarm products. It

can communicate with intelligent devices over a serial

interface using protocols such as MODBUS. It can

directly connect to multiple end devices such as

pressure and temperature transmitters. It has 8 12-bit

analog inputs, 8 digital input/outputs, a high current

relay for control applications and an RS-485 serial

port for protocol communications. The SID can be

powered solely from the batteries in a Sentry allowing

it to be used at unpowered sites. It can also be

powered from a local DC power source.

Several standard applications are already written to

run on the SID such as communicating with a Murphy

TTDJ Digital Annunciator to bring back first fault

information when shutdown occurs.

SatAlarm-Satellite Monitoring Unit (SMU)

AMCi’s lower-cost Satellite Monitoring Unit

(SMU) makes asset monitoring more

productive. Each unit is custom built to the customer’s specifications based on their monitoring requirements, asset configuration, and the power source to be used.

The SMU can be self- or site-powered. It can be autonomous by using either primary lithium batteries only or a solar panel with rechargeable batteries, or both. It can also be site powered from 12 or 24 VDC or 110 VAC. Lithium batteries can be added for back-up in the event of site power failure.

Basic features Include: • 4 digital ports that can be configured to inputs or outputs • 1 8-bit analog input • RS232 serial port • Built in GPS – asset location, speed and heading for mobile

applications. • Two-way communication – Poll the unit for current site conditions

or reprogram the unit to change frequency of reports and their content, change the behavior or set or change alarm parameters.

Advanced features: (with the addition of an AMCi SID) • RS485 serial port • Custom serial protocol applications (i.e. MODBUS, etc.) • Up to 5 analog inputs • Up to 10 digital inputs

SMU™ Applications: • Tank Monitoring – Levels and

alarms • Compressor Monitoring – Alarms

and operational data • Wellhead Monitoring – Shut-in

alarms and pressures • Gas Flow Monitoring – Alarms and

operational data • Generator Monitoring – Location,

operational status, voltage, etc. • Compatible with head switches

and pressure sensors • Irrigation applications • Intrusion and vehicle detection • Remotely monitor and operate

valves and pumps • Monitor several pieces of

equipment at a single site. • Combine digital and analog inputs Additional Capabilities When used with AMCi’s SatAlarm Interface Device (SID) users can: • Communicate with intelligent field

devices and controllers that use serial protocols such as MODBUS

• Monitor and control additional analog and digital ports, including pulse output devices

SatAlarm-Server Web Application SatAlarm-Server is Internet-based and is for users and administrators to see and interact with their Sentry units. • No special software required • Password protected website • Generate & print reports • Export data files • Full mapping features • Last known status • Poll for data and location • Route to mapping features • Unlimited electronic alarm

notifications • Works with AMCi’s 24/7 live-

operator call center • More!
