Virtuosi Tasmania 2016 Season Brass Quintet irtuosi presents a grand tour of the wonderful world of the brass quintet. From its origins in the mid 19th century to the current day, the brass ensemble have made selections from their favourite pieces written for brass quintet. Music by Grieg, the Tchaikovsky-like Victor Ewald and a lovely early piece for brass by Ludwig Maurer. Also a movement from the brilliant American Eric Ewazen and the Paris Conservatoire favourite Eugene Bozza. The ensemble will explore the origins of brass band marches, play a big band number or two and pay a visit to the English music hall. A tuneful afternoon of music not to be missed.
