Tropical Outlook –AtlanticTropical Storm Cristobal (Advisory 19A as of 8:00 a.m. ET)

• 365 miles S of the mouth of the Mississippi River

• Moving N at 12 mph

• On the forecast track, the center will move N over the central Gulf of Mexico today,

and will be near the northern Gulf of Mexico coast on Sunday; the center is then

forecast to move inland across LA late Sunday and Monday

• Max sustained winds 50 mph

• Slow strengthening is forecast until landfall occurs on the northern Gulf Coast

• Weakening will begin once Cristobal moves inland late Sunday and Monday

• Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 240 miles

Potential Impacts:

• Storm Surge Warning: from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Ocean Springs,

MS and for Lake Borgne

• Storm Surge Watch: from Indian Pass to Arepika, FL, and from east of Morgan

City, LA to the mouth of the Mississippi River

• Tropical Storm Warning: east of Morgan City, LA to the Okaloosa/Walton County,

FL line, and for Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas

• Tropical Storm Watch: Intracoastal City, LA to Morgan City

• Rainfall accumulations forecast through Wednesday morning: 4-8 inches with local

amounts up to 12 inches for portions of eastern and western Gulf Coast and Lower

Mississippi Valley; 2-4 inches with local amounts up to 6 inches across the Middle

Mississippi Valley

• Flash flooding and widespread flooding on smaller streams across the Middle

Mississippi Valley

• A few tornadoes may occur across southern LA, southern MS, southwest AL, and

the western FL Panhandle

Tropical Storm Cristobal – PreparationsSituation: Tropical Storm Cristobal will move over the central Gulf of Mexico today

and be near the northern Gulf of Mexico coast on Sunday.

Potential Impacts:

• City of New Orleans reports no concern with pump capacity but concerned with

redundant power if turbine 4 is lost

• LA Governor requested an Emergency Declaration and declared a State of

Emergency

Situation: Protests, civil disturbances and marches continue in numerous cities around the nation.

Several major cities remain under curfew orders.

State / Local Response:

• State EOCs activated for civil unrest (in addition to COVID-19 activation) 11: MN, WI, UT, WA, OK,

AZ, PA, KS, CA, NH (Jun 5-7), DC

• National Guard activated (32): MA, NY, DC, MD, VA, PA, FL, GA, TN, AL, KY, NC, SC, IL, IN, OH,

MI, MN, WI, AR, OK, TX, MO, NE, CO, ND, SD, UT, CA, NV, AZ, WA

FEMA Response:

• Region II (through 7:00 a.m. ET, June 8), III and V RWCs working from alternate location until

further notice

• Region III and V RRCCs working remotely; Region II RRCC in Brooklyn is closed until 7:00 a.m. ET,

June 8

• NRCC and RRCCs are activated (COVID-19)

• NWC and RWCs at Steady State, continue to monitor

COVID-19 Update Situation: FEMA and HHS continue leading the multiagency COVID-19

Response / Recovery efforts. 39,668 (-2,647) FEMA, DoD, HHS, VA, and CDC

personnel deployed / activated; 2,729 (-26) FEMA employees deployed.

Nationwide testing: 19,811,243 (+428,963) cumulative as of June 5.

Lifelines Impacts:

Health and Medical – Public Health

• Federal/State Assistance: RI Governor announced plans to distribute up to

$150 million of federal stimulus funds to help RI hospitals recover from losses

due to coronavirus pandemic

• Testing: MN Department of Health working with National Guard to set up

multiple mobile testing sites for NG members and police officers who

interacted with protestors during the past week

Safety and Security:

• ICE: Homeland Security Investigation Baltimore seized over 14k unapproved

COVID-19 treatment pills; 480 investigations nationwide resulted in the

seizure of over $4.9 million in illicit proceeds and shutdown 36k COVID-19

domain names

• Multiple states have formed task forces to prepare for conducting elections in

a COVID-19 environment

Response:

Level II; Region III, V, VI and VIII RRCCs at Level III; Region VII RRCC is

rostered but the Region continues to support COVID-19 response from the
