THANK YOU
This event would not be possible without the help of

YOUCAN Youth Services is dedicated to assisting young people in developing the skills needed to move out of harms way, transition into
employment or back into education, reduce youth violence and participate actively in youth issues.

We believe in a 50/50 attitude and approach when working with youngpeople: we will work very hard for them, but we also expect them to workvery hard for themselves. We want all the youth in our programs to leavewith a sense of pride and ownership of the experience they had with us.

The work we do is crucial in the lives of the youth we work with. The difference that is made in their lives will stay with them always, and we
may not see the fruits of our labour immediately, but rest assured, it will come. We will impact our world one youth at a time.

YOUCAN Edmonton utilizes the Stages of Change Model as the framework for all the programming that we implement. The staff use
this model as a tool for assessing the youth in relation to their readiness and willingness to change. We use the Stages of Change to
give us a better understanding of the risk factors of a youth. In turn this assists us in knowing the protective factors that will best suit the needs
of the youth and lessen the chance of negative behavior relapse.
