AS EARLY AS THE 1930S the first compressor designed and manufacturedby us left our factory in Kiel – a city 100 km north of Hamburg and well-known for its shipbuilding and naval traditions. Known in the early daysas Poppe, and later as Sauer Compressors, the company quickly gaineda reputation for producing high quality and high performance pistoncompressors designed for demanding applications in shipping, navalequipment, industry and offshore activities.

Today it is the headquarter and biggest site of the privately-owned Sauer Compressors Group with a global turnover of € 70 million employing 330 persons worldwide.
