SAVE Programs & ServicesJOBtrack offers employees who WANT to work, onsite job coaches to

help train and monitor their progress.Developmental Training and Vocational Development programs provided

consumers with 100,000 hours of employment last year.Residential Services offers 29+ individuals supervised, independent

living in a home and neighborhood environment. For information on SAVE’s programs and services, visit us online at

Executive Director’s CornerDear Friends of SAVE,As we embark on another year of service to the

men and women at SAVE, I would like to express deepappreciation to several organizations that providefaithful support for our efforts. They help us empow-er SAVE’s consumers to attain their highest potentialand have happy lives:

The Junior Service Club of St. Clair County - Thisorganization of professional women has provided not only financial supportfor over a decade, but personal enrichment programs. Each year they host aHalloween Party for the consumers that is a highlight with games, tricks andtreats. They also have undertaken special projects to beautify the campus.

Knights of Columbus - Local chapters of this international fellowship havecommitted themselves to assisting those with developmental disabilities byproviding financial support annually, and volunteering personal time thathelps build a firm foundation for SAVE’s program. This partnership is furtherstrengthened through SAVE’s support of the Knights’ fundraising efforts, whichaffords us the opportunity to highlight SAVE’s work to the wider community.

Latter Day Saints, O’Fallon & Belleville - In recent years two Wards have“adopted” SAVE as an annual special service project that involves close to 100volunteers. Through their efforts they have provided much needed mainte-nance and renovation work in classrooms, housing and grounds at Turkey Hilland the North Illinois Street site.

Faith Lutheran Church, O’Fallon - For the past several years the youth ofFaith Church have spent a day each spring accomplishing much neededrenewal for the buildings and grounds through cleaning and painting andlandscaping.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Freeburg –The Youth organization has recent-ly assisted with maintenance and renovation of homes in our residential site.

D.A.V. Edwardsville Unit #90 – For more than 20 years this organization hasbrought the Christmas Spirit to SAVE’s Annual Christmas Dance.

The resources these organizations along with numerous other groups andindividuals give each year enables SAVE to be the premier provider of servic-es to adults with disabilities in Southwest Illinois. Seeing the smiles and senseof satisfaction that the consumers experience because of these efforts, affirmsthe important, life-changing work of SAVE!

THANK YOU, one and all! 2015 is bright with promise and hope because

of you.

Easy Ways to Help!Creative Ways to Support SAVE

For those wanting to make a difference in the lives of the men andwomen SAVE serves, here are some creative ways to provide support

that have a significant impact. Gifts made with thoughtful considerationto the future show the community what you value, and that you want toinvest not only your possessions, but your life as well.

An easy way to support SAVE is through the eScrip-Schnucks pro-gram. Use you eScrip card each time you shop at Schnucks and a per-centage of the sale is donated to SAVE. Don’t have a Schnucks eScripcard? Call 618-234-1992 and request one. When you receive it, all youhave to do is register it, shop and help SAVE.

A relatively new way to provide resources is by shopping online atwww.eScrip.com. By shopping at the more than 100 vendors participat-ing in the program, a percentage of your purchase will be donated toSAVE. See the back cover of this Newsletter for more information, alongwith a special opportunity to be entered to win a $100 VISA gift card.

Does your employer have a matching gift program? A number ofcompanies in the area offer to match gifts made to charitable organiza-tions by their employees, thereby doubling the employee’s contribution.Contact your Human Resources department to explore this possibility.

Like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/SAVEPage. Social mediais a very effective way to spread the word about how SAVE affects thelives of our consumers. Through photos, posts and shared information,we impact the larger community. For example, more than 1,000 peoplehave seen our post about Midwestern Propane dedicating their newtruck to SAVE! The more Likes we have, the sooner more folks find us.

Finally, don’t forget the Bequest. Including SAVE in your estate plan, either through your will or a trust, is a great way to help insure ourimportant work far into the future, as well as leave a personal legacy forothers to remember.

As you can see there are a number of ways to provide support forSAVE that cost very little, yet provide valuable resources for our mission. If you have questions about any of this or would like additional informa-tion, contact Director of Development James Freeman at 618-234-1992,ext. 123.

Midwestern Propane Delivers SAVE’s Message

Midwestern Propane Gas Company received a new tanker truck inDecember that is dedicated to SAVE. Four of SAVE’s consumers are

pictured on both sides of the tank, along with the SAVE logo and web-site. Not only has Midwestern offered this “rolling billboard” to helppromote SAVE’s mission, but they are donating a percentage of thesales generated by this truck to SAVE. Our thanks to MidwesternPropane for being a wonderful partner.

(l-r) SAVE’s Executive Director Randy Law and Board President Pat White came tosee the new truck when it arrived. Midwestern Propane’s General Manager Ron

Brodwater, and Operations Manager Dale Wiegard, showed it off.

Knights of ColumbusCouncils Support SAVEEver since SAVE acquired the

property at Turkey Hill in 1974,area community organizationshave been vital to our success.

Several houses bear the namesof the groups that “adoptedthem” for rehab and repair then.

Today, we still receive financialand volunteer support from manyof these same organizations.

Jim Schnipper, Director ofOperations (l) accepted a checkfrom Tom Reaka, who represent-ed the Freeburg Knights ofColumbus. Knights Councils inFairview Heights, Belleville,O’Fallon, Millstadt and Cahokiaalso support SAVE. Thank you!
