Saving and sending files to the machine using a flash drive is sometimes necessary in event that you cannot

connect your machine via the blue USB cable provided. This document will go over some important steps

needed to successfully get files from flash drive to machine.

The flash drive must be formatted to a “fat” file system.

To find this out you will:

1. Plug the flash drive into the computer

2. Open the file explorer tab

3. Locate the flash drive port inside the “this PC” window

4. Right click on the flash drive disk and click on properties

5. Once inside the new flash drive properties window you should see the file system be set for “FAT”

6. If this is set for “FAT” you will be all set to save files using this flash drive

After ensuring that the flash drive you are trying to use with the machine has a “FAT” system type, you are not

ready to save files from RDworks onto your flash drive.

To do this you will:

1. Open your RDworks software

2. Find or make a file that you would like to cut/engrave

3. With your flash drive plugged into the computer you will click the “SaveToUFile” button found in the

laser works tab

4. Once the “save as…” window appears you will locate the flash drive location and name the file and

click save, this will save the file as an RD. file to your flash drive

Now that you have the file on the flash drive you will remove the flash drive and go to the machine. Once you

are at the machine you will:

1. Insert your flash drive into the flash drive port on the machine

2. On the main menu of the control panel you will hit “file”

3. You will highlight “Udisk+” and hit enter on it

4. Highlight “Read Udisk file”

and hit enter on it

5. Once your file name pops up

on the screen you will

highlight “copy to mem” and

hit enter on it, at this point

the machine will let you

know that it is copying the

file over to the machine and

will let you know if the copy

was successful

6. After the file is copied successfully, you will then

escape out of all the menus, hit file again, and you can

now hit enter once you find your file.

7. Once the file has been selected you can use the “start-pause” function to run or stop the job.
