Saying “I” or “we” Are Going Somewhere *Turn on the audio file and read along.*
When we want to say “I” or “we” are going somewhere, we use “voy” or “vamos”. Take a look:
Voy a la estación. = I go to the station. Vamos a la estación. = We go to the station.
Voy al hotel. = I go to the hotel. Vamos al hotel. = We go to the hotel.
Did you notice that after “voy” or “vamos” there is “a la” or “al”? That is because “a” means “to”. “La” or “el” mean “the”. Also, when a word uses “el”, we change the “a + el” to “al”.
Write a sentence saying where “I” or “we” are going. Then listen to the audio for the answers.
Example: You need a book for a report. Voy a la biblioteca.
