Sustainability: The Path to Profits Workshop Series | Sustainable Midlands
Project Goal: To create a series of workshops led by sustainability experts for Columbia business. The workshops will have to be organized from the ground up, including fundraising, marketing, logistics, research, and finance. Target date for workshops is February/March.
For: Grad Students with possible undergrad participation.
The Vision: Introduce the VALUE of sustainability to decision makers from Columbia Businesses. Sustainability is not just about planting trees, it’s about creating real value and insuring the long-term health of your business along with society at large.

District Resource Guide | Sustainable Midlands
Project Goal: Work with the facilities and energy managers of Richland County School District 1 to help the district build an energy conservation plan that meets the state mandate of 20 percent energy reduction for all school buildings by the year 2020.
Cheap Money for Energy Plans: 2% interest loans from the S.C. Energy Office
The Vision: To create a District Resource Guide that provides school boards and superintendents statewide with a SC specific energy conservation plan. The plan will include local resource information and prototype budgets that project loan repayment timelines and energy cost savings
