Introduction Have you ever seen a Scarlet Macaw? Do you know anything about them? If you dont, you may learn more about its looks, habitat, and diet right here! Even if you do know a little bit about Scarlet Macaws, I hope you learn more!

Physical Description Scarlet Macaws look really, really cool. Unlike other macaws, Scarlet Macaws have bare check patches. Its about 2 feet tall and weighs about 900- 14909 g. They are red on the head and shoulder, yellow on the back and mid-wing feathers, and blue on the wing tips and tail feathers. The Scarlet Macaws appearance is truly amazing.

Habitat The Scarlet Macaws habitat is the tropical rainforest. It has many trees, plants, and animals. They find shelter in the canopy of the rainforest. Many other animals live there, too. One of them is monkeys. I hope you learned some new information about the Scarlet Macaws habitat!

Diet The Scarlet Macaw eats many things. They eat fruit, nuts, clay, and sometimes flowers and nectar. Can you believe they eat clay? Scientists think they eat it to digest the unripe fruit. Large cats, eagles and hawks eat them. The structures on their beak help them to grind seeds so they can be digested. The Scarlet Macaw has an unusual diet.

Life CycleAfter the Scarlet Macaw is hatched, it takes 3 to 4 years to grow from baby to adult. After that, they live 40 to 50 years. Some even live up to 75 years! Thats a pretty long life for a bird! The life cycle of the Scarlet Macaw is very interesting.

ConclusionBefore this project I hardly knew anything about the Scarlet Macaw! I hope you learned some new stuff, too! Before, you might have just thought the Scarlet Macaw was pretty to look at. Next time you see one, I hope you think of this report! Did you know people try to capture the Scarlet Macaw? Apparently, a live Scarlet Macaw is worth about $1000. The Scarlet Macaw is a very unusual bird.
