I think that addit ional convenience outlets are needed in this location. The people seen in the photo are gathered here to use the only avai lable outlet nearby to charge their electr ical devices. A good solution would be a charging station with several convenience outlets.

The photo shows a duplex floor outlet. I t is l ikely used to plug in cleaning equipment. I t would seem to be very useful because i t is located in an open space with few wal ls to house outlets.

This GFCI is located in the restroom to protect people from electr ical shock when using electr ical devices such as hair dryers or curl ing irons. The outlet is mounted 37” (o.c.) above the floor.

In order for a wal l sconce to be ADA compliant it must be mounted 6’-8” or higher from the floor and project no more than 4” inches to al low a person to safely pass beneath i t . This sconce meets those requirements.

The rocker plate switch is located at the entry of a hotel room. I t is appropriate. The programmable and sl ide dimmer switches were operable displays at Home Depot. They can be used in residential and commercial sett ings where a variety of l ighting levels is desired. They can also greatly reduce energy usage.

This photo shows direct or discomfort glare. Sunl ight is the l ight source and it is within my field of vis ion in the photo. I t was difficult to look at the camera while taking this photo due to the glare.

This airport takes great advantage of natural dayl ight. They have windows on almost every exterior wal l to al low l ight to penetrate the bui lding. In addit ion, they have also used primari ly white wal l finishes al lowing the l ight to be reflected throughout the space.

The dayl ight in this hotel room is control led by drapery. I t is needed for comfort and to reduce glare. The sheer drapery panels filter out a smal l portion of the dayl ight, while the heavy blackout drapes prevent al l dayl ight from entering the room. The drapes are effective.

This occupancy sensor is located in the restroom. The sensor controls the courtesy or “nightl ight”. The courtesy l ight gives the user just enough l ight to find their way around the restroom and navigate to the l ight switch i tself.

The data outlet in the photo is mounted on a publ ic internet station at Hol lywood Airport. An ethernet port as well as electr ical receptacles are vis ible. I t doesn’t seem to be very useful as I did not witness anyone using the space and most people access the internet using the airport Wi-Fi .
