Alternatively, players can both agree on which scenario they wish to play. Sometimes the Star Chart will also dictate which scenario to use for specific regions. SCHEMATICS Schematics are unique challenges that players can complete for additional league points. In addition, the first player to complete any given Schematic should inform the Event Organizer (EO). The EO will then write that player’s name into the appropriate space on the Device poster, signifying that the given Schematic is complete. Other players can still earn league points for completing Schematic challenges even after the given Schematic is recorded as complete, but each player can earn points from each Schematic only once. Once players complete all six Schematics, the EO will take a photo of the Device and email it to TheDevice@privateerpress. com. Each completed Device helps open this season’s Vault and reveal the secrets found within. This season’s Vault can be viewed at: privateerevents.com Please see the Schematics section in the Machinations core rules for more details. Schematics for this season are as follows: • Schematic 1: Dementia Win three games in a row using a randomly chosen warcaster or warlock each game. (This model should be in a faction you are playing for the league and must be randomly selected from the models you own. Agree with your opponent before the game begins and before your army list is constructed on how to randomly determine which model you will use.) Bonus: 3 league points • Schematic 2: Mutation Convert and paint a model in your faction to look blighted, undead, or like a construct. A player can choose a model that is already blighted, undead, or a construct but must convert it to look like one of these three aspects that it isn’t already. Bonus: 3 league points • Schematic 3: Obliteration Deal 20 total points of damage to enemy models via blast damage in a single game. This damage total may be accumulated over the course of the game and does not have to be achieved in a single attack. Count the full amount of damage dealt in an attack toward your total, even if that amount exceeds the enemy model’s number of health boxes. Bonus: 3 league points. • Schematic 4: Genesis Build and paint three different terrain pieces. Bonus: 5 league points

Chaos and entropy spread throughout western Immoren as unexplainable and bizarre phenomena continue to plague the land. Unknown to the populace, the secret wars of the cephalyx and the newly emerged Convergence of Cyriss are the cause behind the madness. They must be stopped!

Gather your army and face your foes at the sites of these strange anomalies. Weather the storm, and prepare to bring balance back to western Immoren.

ScenarioSPlayers can randomly select a scenario for one-on-one games before each game by rolling 2d6 and using the corresponding scenario from the Scenario Table in the Machinations core rules. Alternatively, players can both agree on which scenario they wish to play. Sometimes the Star Chart will also dictate which scenario to use for specific regions.

SchematicSSchematics are unique challenges that players can complete for additional league points.

Once players complete all six Schematics, the EO will take a photo of the Device and email it to [email protected]. Each completed Device helps open this season’s Vault and reveal the secrets found within.

SeaSon modelSThe following season models are available for Machinations: Entropy.

    • Cygnar – Storm Strider Experiment 17• Protectorate – Vessel of Blind Faith• Khador – Kommando Karriage• Cryx – Ghost Engine• Retribution – Distortion Field Generator• Mercenaries – Anatasia di Bray, Elusive Spy• Trollbloods – War Wagon of Drunken Heroes• Circle – Entropic Fulcrum• Skorne – Paingivers’ Animantarax• Legion – Blighted Glutton• Minions – Gudrun the Enlightened

Though legal for all league games throughout their season, season models are not legal models for use outside of the Machinations league.

Season model stat cards can be found online at: http://privateerpress.com/organized-play/leagues/entropy

awardSChampion Medallion The Champion medallion goes to the player with the most points on the league scoreboard.

Participation Patches All players participating in a Machinations league season receive a participation patch.

mapBefore each game, the players should determine which map region they are fighting over. The player with the lowest league score chooses the region. In the case of a tie, roll a d6 to determine who chooses.

When games are completed, in addition to scoring league points, players should also inform the EO when they win a game and which region they were fighting over. EOs should properly report this information using the online league map.

Regions Each region has a different effect on the battles that take place there. These effects are static and will not change during the course of the league. When fighting in a region, you should check to determine what additional rules are in effect.

    • Region 1 – The Battle of Dunlyf This once-thriving village has been ravaged by a vicious war between the Convergence of Cyriss and the cephalyx. Unfortunately, you and your foe have found yourselves caught in the middle of their struggle! All games played here must use Entropy Scenario 1: The Streets Run Red.

    • Region 2 – Power Flow This area is rich with arcane energy flowing out from a ley line nearby. Spellcasters find that it requires little concentration to maintain even the most difficult arcane enchantments here. A model in this region may upkeep its spells for free.

    • Region 3 – Eternal Struggle What was once an unremarkable patch of land has become a lush field in a matter of weeks. Those who pass through this area feel invigorated and find that any ailments afflicting them soon become a distant memory. During each player’s Maintenance Phase, all living models under his control heal d3 damage points. Roll once for the entire army each turn.

    • Region 4 – Concentrated Insanity Every living being in this region has gone completely insane. The local wildlife has become frenzied and unpredictable and residents have turned into stark-raving lunatics—even trained warcasters and warlocks aren’t safe from the maddening effects of this place. All warcasters and warlocks suffer Arcane Madness. (For each round, a warcaster or warlock’s base FOCUS or FURY is d6+1, rolled at the beginning of the game and at the beginning of each of its controller’s Control Phases before the model replenishes its focus or leaches fury. The model’s control area is always 12˝.)

    • Region 5 – Vanishing Act Deep beneath the earth, the cephalyx have corrupted another of the Convergence’s devices. Unfortunately, in the battle to liberate the device, the machinery has gone haywire! Now entire acres of the surface above the machine are being vaporized as it self-destructs. All games played here must use Entropy Scenario 2: Critical Mass.

    • Region 6 – Intoxicating Aura The air is filled with a pleasant aroma that soothes the mind, loosens inhibitions, and causes periods of intense memory loss. All living models in this region gain Stumbling Drunk. (A model with Stumbling Drunk cannot be knocked down. If it is hit by an enemy attack anytime except while it is advancing, after the attack is resolved it is pushed d3˝ in a direction determined by the deviation template, then its controller chooses its facing.)

    • Region 7 – Spatial Hyperflux Perception bends and twists in this region, allowing soldiers to see enemies with crystal clarity regardless of any attempts to hide. Models, terrain, and cloud effects do not block LOS in this region.

    • Region 8 – Rain of Death This region hid yet another of the Convergence’s devices, which the cephalyx discovered and corrupted. As the Convergence marched upon the site to reclaim the machine, the cephalyx launched a horrific ambush from deep underground. All games played here must use Entropy Scenario 3: No One Survives.

    • Region 9 – Perpetual Sorrow Machine Somewhere in this region, an unknown entity has attempted to corrupt an ancient Orgoth ruin. Their experimentation failed, and its lasting effects have cursed this land. At the beginning of each player’s Maintenance Phase, that player can return one destroyed friendly Faction Grunt to play with one unmarked damage box. Place that model in formation and within 3˝ of another model in its original unit. (The Grunt can activate normally with its unit that turn. If all models in the Grunt’s unit have been destroyed, it cannot be placed within 3˝ of a model in its unit and therefore cannot return to play.)

    • Region 10 – The Edge A Convergence node, tapped into a powerful ley line, has begun to leak pure energy into the surrounding area. Unlike energy flowing naturally, this refined power comes in quick bursts that overload the senses and allows spellcasters to perform feats of strength that test the limits of their bodies. Warcasters and warlocks in this region gain Arcane Overload. (Once per activation, a model with Arcane Overload can roll one to three dice. The model gains a STR bonus equal to the total of that roll. Then roll the same dice again. The model suffers damage equal to the total of that roll. This damage cannot be transferred. Models disabled by this damage cannot make a Tough roll. This bonus expires at the end of the model’s activation.)

    • Region 11 – False Alarm The villagers in this region have evacuated recently due to a series of unnerving seismic events, but upon further investigation there appears to be nothing abnormal occurring at all. There is no game effect for playing in this region.

    • Region 12 – Cattle Thieves The local farmers have reported the theft of their livestock. Each farmer’s tale varies wildly from that of his neighbors, with the stories ranging from Cryxian raiders assaulting the farm to strange creatures using mind control devices to lure the beasts away. The authorities remain unconvinced. There is no game effect for playing in this region.

    entropy Scenario 1:

the StreetS run redSummary: The battle of Dunlyf has reached its climax! Unfortunately, you and your opponent are caught right in the middle of the chaos as the Cyrissist and cephalyx forces attempt to annihilate each other. You don’t have a large enough force to survive this battle and must instead escape the village as quickly as possible.

When placing terrain for this scenario, players should try to use what would appear in a small village, such as small lakes and rivers, buildings representing homes and shops, dirt roads, walls, fences, etc. This style of terrain isn’t required to play this scenario but is highly recommended if available.

Place four 5˝ AOEs in accordance with the map below. These AOEs are the Swirling Brawls.

Players cannot place additional terrain within 3˝ of any other terrain feature.

Special ruleSDuring each player’s Maintenance Phase, that player activates all four Swirling Brawls. When a Brawl activates,

it moves d3˝ in a random direction as determined by the deviation template. The deviation template may be aligned to face any direction as determined by the active player. Roll each distance and direction separately for each Brawl.

A model entering into, ending its activation within, or beginning its activation within one of the Brawl AOEs suffers a POW 10 damage roll and is pushed d3+3˝ directly away from the center of the Brawl. If a model cannot be pushed, moved, or placed by this effect, it suffers a POW 16 damage roll instead. A model can suffer the effects of Brawl AOEs only once per turn.

When a player ends his warcaster/warlock’s activation completely within his opponent’s deployment zone and no enemy models are within 5˝ of the warcaster/warlock, that player earns a control point. A player cannot earn more than 1 control point during his turn.

Victory conditionSA player wins when he earns 3 control points or when he has the only warcasters/warlocks remaining in play.

    entropy Scenario 2:

critical maSSSummary: Beneath your very feet, a corrupted Convergence device has gone completely haywire. As it slowly implodes, random rays of pure energy are vaporizing the area above it! Your army must race to a stable patch of soil to avoid being completely obliterated.

Place a 12˝ x 12˝ zone in the center of the table in accordance with the map below. This is the safe zone.

When placing terrain, it is highly recommended that players use at least six terrain features for this scenario.

Players cannot place additional terrain within 3˝ of any other terrain feature or within the safe zone.

Special ruleSStarting on the second round, at the start of each round randomly select a piece of terrain on the table. Models base-

Models that are within 4˝ of this terrain feature that are not completely within the safe zone also suffer the Fire continuous effect . Remove this terrain feature from the table.

Starting on the second player’s second turn, when a player ends his warcaster/warlock’s activation within the safe zone and no enemy models are within the safe zone, that player earns 1 control point. A player cannot earn more than 1 control point during his turn.

Place a single trench terrain feature in the center of the table in accordance with the map below. This is the only trench that can be placed on this table. Theme Forces or other abilities that allow a trench to be placed have no effect in this scenario.
