Welcome to the RM!The last two years have presented a real challenge to those of us who ranch in thispart of Texas. Record drought gripped the area and we are lucky to have TexasLonghorns as no other breed could have weathered those tough times with as littlesupplemental feeding as they required. These cattle truly are a gift from nature andwe enjoy our cattle as much as we did when we started in 1978. As this is being writ-ten all of Texas is wet and anticipating a wonderful spring. We look forward to hav-ing you join us for another great sale.
After last year’s sale we received a request from several breeders who have beenstrong supporters of this sale and who are dear friends of ours. They asked if theycould host a special event independent of the sale at the ranch the Thursday beforethe sale with a viewing of our cattle and a wine tasting and catered meal. Like allbreeders of these fine cattle, we know and appreciate how many lasting friendshipshave been made among breeders and we always look forward to gatherings of ourfellow breeders where we can spend time to renew friendships and enjoy beingtogether. We would like to thank the host couples, the Allens, Filips, Hevers,Spargers and Twinings for their hosting of this event and their interest in the RM.Charline and I will enjoy joining those who attend!
Our breeding program took a giant leap forward when we acquired the great bullIron Mike. We truly believe that he will someday take is place alongside the all-timetop bulls in the business and be seen as one of the “greats of the breed”. He joins alineup of bulls that are without a doubt the strongest group we have ever had.Touchdown of RM and MC Super Rex are now proven and respected throughoutthe breed. Buzz (a.k.a. Buzz Saw), owned with Hudson Longhorns and RM HeavyTouch, owned with the Allens are two up and coming young bulls that are sure to besuperstars.
As always, we hope you will enjoy your time at the RM and we appreciate yoursupport.
