Dear Alumni and Friends,

Welcome Home to the Annual Founders’

Celebration! It is indeed my pleasure to welcome

the alumni and their friends back to where it all

began 151 years ago. Your support of this annual

event is crucial on behalf of Talladega College,

which is your home away from home. Without

your support for this event and other events, the

College would not be thriving as it is today and we

could not Build for the Future and the continuity of

Dega.

We all have so much to be proud of at Talladega

College. The College is more than ever focused on

the students, their education and their future. I am

excited to report our enrollment swelled this year to

1,217 students, a 55.5% increase for Fall 2018,

which is the highest enrollment in the 151-year

history of the College! Our quiver is indeed full,

but the faculty and staff are up for the challenge,

along with my Senior Administration. We are all

working to make the campus life experience better

for all students who attend the College.

The New Student Dormitory is set to open on

December 2018 and the New Student Center will

be opening Spring 2019. I am equally proud to say

the Dr. William R. Harvey Museum of Art will be

opening May 2019 and will be a state-of-the-art,

climate-controlled building to house the renowned

Amistad Murals painted by Hale Woodruff on the

campus of your alma mater. We are building for

the future - a successful future - and with the

mindset that Dega will continue to grow by leaps

and bounds.

I am focused on the future of Talladega College; a

future that is bright for Dega - The Alpha Lyrae
