• Presented appraisal degrees schedule is referring to my point of view, it’s negotiable & can be changed

8

Applying the Schedule

• After setting exams & estimated degrees by managers …..

• Now we have for each employee a specific degree out of 100 degree, representing his actual role on rig

9

Applying the Schedule

• It’s hard for any employee to achieve the full mark, so ….

• We will set the highest degree achieved by any employee in his job as reference & the top percentage 100 %

10

Applying the Schedule

• Example …. The Driller Job

• The highest degree achieved by driller1 of all E.D.C. drillers is 90 out of 100 ( as a degree )

• Now this 90 degree is the max & the 100% ( as an appraisal )

• Applying this simple equation on all drillers degrees to get their percentage

• Driller2 achieved 70 degree out of 100, translated to 63% ( as an appraisal )

Procedures of applying the technical exam

• Exams set by related sections in the head office for each job on rig

• MCQ exams

• Exams in both languages English & Arabic

• Set couple of forms of exam for each job ( 3 or 4 forms )

• Exam consists of 10 questions ( 7 technical + 3 safety )

14

Procedures of applying the technical exam

• Exams printed by the head office, applied on rig by a delegate of head office, monitoring & getting the answer papers back to head office to be marked

• Applying the exam on a crew just before date of work & the other crew just after date of work within the same day

15

Procedures of applying the technical exam

• Applying the exam by the same sequence in the same time in the same day in a group of rigs

• Reapplying the exam sequence on the rest of rigs for the other crew using the different forms of exam

16

Advantages of scheduled appraisal

1. The system depends on the technical & practical work & knowledge of person in his job

2. Upgrading & raising the technical knowledge of E.D.C employees

3. Minimizing the problems that may occur due to some opposite point of views of persons on rig

17

Advantages of scheduled appraisal

4. Setting a good reference for the head office about employees to monitor & indicate direction of their level of technical knowledge, practical work & safety awareness through couple of years

5. Comparing the K.P.I of each rig by its crew appraisal results

18

Advantages of scheduled appraisal

6. Equality of persons in the same job in different rigs in appraisal

Using the present appraisal system ….

F.M 1 has a category 3 on a rig has a K.P.I 6, of course he is not in the same level or quality of F.M 2 who has a category 3 on a rig has a K.P.I9

19

Advantages of scheduled appraisal

7. The best way to indicate the employees technical & practical real level, the good & bad, points of strength & weakness of rig & its crews
