February 2014

Discrepancies found in two programs’ schedules from October through December, 2013.

Involved unreported vacation time and unreported leave of absence.

Resulted in misrepresentation and incorrect billing to four different affiliated hospitals.

Affected over $5,000 that had been billed to affiliates.

Necessitated contact with state agency (UMEC) and affiliates to correct cost reporting data.

‘Buts’

• “But, there are often changes after the 15th.”

• “But, I wasn’t told about the change.”

• “But, I have too many other tasks that are more of a priority.”

We realize that there will be changes. Please let us know about them promptly and work with your PD to establish a scheduling process / structure that can be managed more effectively.

You can make this a priority.

Ideas?
