34 35 Nicolas and Charlotte Horsch and Arne Huebscher of Horsch Interiors collaborated with Hannes Bach of Rieder Architecture in Gstaad on this penthouse apartment which occupies the top floor of a recently built traditional Chalet in Schönried, Gstaad. It offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Particular emphasis was placed on using only authentic, natural materials in both the construction and the interior. Antique or aged wood was used widely. Artfully crafted by local builders, the warm material infuses the space with a sense of connection to its surroundings and creates a unique atmosphere. The authentic fireplace in limestone from Burgundy is Louis XV (18th century). The firebox was lined with thin antique bricks in a herringbone pattern. All walls left bare of wood are covered in custom mixed pigmented plaster, applied by a local artisan in Gstaad, the only one in the region capable of a beautiful wall finish in this quality. By using only local artisans the house really seems to blend with its surroundings. Horsch Interiors, a young and gradually expanding company from Germany has had a lot of success in the past three years. In addition to working in Switzerland, where they have just finished an elegant villa on Lake Zurich, also in collaboration with Rieder Architecture, in 2019 they finished a house in London, renovated a manor house close to the Danish border, a small country house near Hamburg and are working on a villa near the Elbe in Hamburg. Another international project is a farm in Bedford, N.Y, due for completion in 2021. Both Rieder and Horsch love to create timeless spaces, rooms that feel both modern and ancient at the same time, elegant, cozy, understated. All interior upholstery was manufactured at Horsch Interiors and their partners’ workshops in Belgium, using only the finest Belgian linens or tweeds from Holland & Sherry. European antiques, original 17th century mirrors or sculptures, are casually mixed together with Chinese artefacts and contemporary art. A Han dynasty Vase, 100 B.C., sits on the mantlepiece, above which an 18th century French wood and waxed cotton disc of incredible beauty and patina centers the room. It has the aura and power of a contemporary piece. Other art includes Eduardo Chillida or antique fer rouillé panels, found by Nicolas at Pierre Benard and Augustin Deleuze in Paris, two of his favorite dealer friends. The overall atmosphere is one of universal and timeless calm and elegance, a warm cocoon the owners want to return to after a long day out in the snow. Nicolas et Charlotte Horsch et Arne Huebscher de Horsch Interiors ont collaboré avec Hannes Bach de Rieder Architecture à Gstaad sur cet appartement penthouse qui occupe le dernier étage d’un chalet traditionnel récemment construit à Schönried, Gstaad. Il offre une vue imprenable sur les montagnes environnantes.
Un accent particulier a été mis sur l’utilisation de matériaux naturels authentiques à la fois dans la construction et à l’intérieur. Le bois ancien ou vieilli est largement utilisé. Conçu avec expertise par des constructeurs locaux, le matériau chaleureux crée une atmosphère unique. L’authentique cheminée en pierre calcaire de Bourgogne est Louis XV (XVIIIe siècle). La chambre de combustion est garnie de fines briques antiques dans un motif à chevrons. Tous les murs laissés nus de bois sont recouverts de plâtre pigmenté mixte personnalisé, appliqué par un artisan local à Gstaad, le seul dans la région capable d’une belle finition murale de cette qualité. En utilisant uniquement des artisans locaux, la maison semble vraiment se fondre dans son environnement.
Rieder Architecture est un cabinet d’architecture leader à Gstaad et un leader du marché de l’architecture résidentielle haut de gamme en Suisse. Horsch Interiors, une jeune entreprise allemande en pleine expansion, a connu beaucoup de succès ces trois dernières années. En plus de travailler en Suisse, où ils viennent de terminer une élégante villa sur le lac de Zurich, également en collaboration avec Rieder Architecture, en 2019, ils ont terminé une maison à Londres, rénové un manoir près de la frontière danoise, une petite maison de campagne près de Hambourg et travaillent sur une villa près de l’Elbe à Hambourg. Un autre projet international est une ferme à Bedford, New York, qui devrait être achevée en 2021.
Rieder et Horsch adorent créer des espaces intemporels, des pièces à la fois modernes et anciennes à la fois, élégantes, confortables, sobres.
Tous les tissus d’ameublement intérieurs ont été fabriqués par Horsch Interiors et les ateliers de leurs partenaires en Belgique, en utilisant uniquement les meilleurs draps ou tweed belges de Holland & Sherry. Des antiquités européennes, des miroirs ou des sculptures originales du XVIIe siècle, sont mélangés avec désinvolture avec des objets chinois et de l’art contemporain. Un vase de la dynastie Han, 100 av.J.-C., est assis sur le manteau de cheminée, et au-dessus un disque de bois français et de coton ciré du XVIIIe siècle d’une beauté et d’une patine incroyables qui centre la pièce. Il a l’aura et la puissance d’une pièce contemporaine. Parmi les autres œuvres d’art figurent Eduardo Chillida ou des panneaux antiques de fer rouillé, trouvés par Nicolas chez Pierre Benard et Augustin Deleuze à Paris, deux de ses amis marchands préférés.
L’atmosphère générale est celle d’un calme et d’une élégance universels et intemporels, un cocon chaleureux auquel les propriétaires veulent revenir après une longue journée dans la neige.
Nicolas en Charlotte Horsch en Arne Huebscher van Horsch Interiors werkten samen met Hannes Bach van Rieder Architecture in Gstaad aan dit penthouse-appartement op de bovenste verdieping van een recent gebouwd traditioneel chalet in Schönried, Gstaad. Het biedt een adembenemend uitzicht op de omliggende bergen.
Bijzondere nadruk werd gelegd op het gebruik van uitsluitend authentieke, natuurlijke materialen in zowel de constructie als het interieur. Antiek of verouderd hout werd veel gebruikt. Vakkundig vervaardigd door lokale ambachtslui, creëert het warme materiaal een unieke sfeer. De authentieke open haard in kalksteen uit Bourgondië is Louis XV (18e eeuw). De vuurkist is bekleed met dunne antieke stenen in een visgraatpatroon. Alle muren die kaal zijn gelaten, zijn bedekt met speciaal gemengd gepigmenteerd gips, aangebracht door een lokale ambachtsman in Gstaad, de enige in de regio die zo’n prachtige wandafwerking kan realiseren. Door alleen lokale ambachtslieden te gebruiken, lijkt het huis echt op te gaan in de omgeving.
Rieder Architecture is een toonaangevend architectuurkantoor in Gstaad en een marktleider in hoogwaardige residentiële architectuur in Zwitserland. Horsch Interiors, een jong en groeiend bedrijf uit Duitsland, heeft de afgelopen drie jaar veel succes gehad. Naast projecten in Zwitserland, waar ze net een elegante villa aan het meer van Zürich hebben voltooid, ook in samenwerking met Rieder Architecture, voltooiden ze in 2019 een huis in Londen, renoveerden een herenhuis dicht bij de Deense grens, een klein landhuis in de buurt Hamburg en werken ze momenteel aan een villa in de buurt van de Elbe in Hamburg. Een Han-dynastie vaas, 100 v.Chr., Bevindt zich op de schoorsteenmantel, waarboven een 18e-eeuwse Franse houten en gewaxte katoenen schijf van ongelooflijke schoonheid en patina de kamer centreert. Het heeft de uitstraling en kracht van een eigentijds stuk. Andere kunst omvat Eduardo Chillida of antieke fer rouillé-panelen, gevonden door Nicolas bij Pierre Benard en Augustin Deleuze in Parijs, twee van zijn favoriete dealer-vrienden.
De algehele sfeer is er een van universele en tijdloze rust en elegantie, een warme cocon waar de eigenaren naar terug willen keren na een lange dag in de sneeuw.
