DEC and Federal Migratory Species Guidelines apply! 4 Furbearer includes bobcat, weasel, opossum, raccoon, skunk, fox, mink, muskrat, and coyote hunting (hunting only, trapping is prohibited) 5 Small Game includes cottontail rabbit, varying hare, squirrel, pheasant, ruffed grouse and bobwhite quail hunting. Reptile and Amphibian hunting is prohibited Instructions Please read these instructions carefully. An incomplete application will result in a denial of your application. Permit Conditions:

• This permit is valid only for the period for which it is issued, shall not be transferred, and may be revoked at any time.

• Hunters shall comply with all applicable sections of the Environmental Conservation Law; Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation Law and their implementing regulations and shall hunt in the manner prescribed by the Department of Environmental Conservation, except as modified by the dates, times and hunting styles specified in this permit. This permit confers only those rights indicated herein.

• Hunters must carry their permit, hunting license and photo I.D. while hunting or scouting in the Park and produce them upon request to any law enforcement officer or park employee. Any unauthorized alteration will void your permit.

• ALL hunters, including campers, must sign in, date, time and permit number on the clip board on the outside wall of the office upon entering the park to hunt. Upon leaving the park, all hunters must sign out for the day and also write down if they took any game. We must know if someone is still left in the woods!

• This permit is valid only in the hunting areas indicated on the attached map.

• DMU permits areas are 4K north of the overhead Bridges and 4T south of the overhead bridges.

• The possession of rifles of any caliber or handgun of any type is strictly prohibited.

• No person shall hunt in an area of a park that is posted or otherwise identified as a “Restricted Area.”

• When walking through a safety zone, all weapons must be in the open position and the chamber must be empty.

• Hunting within 500 feet of any building or road is strictly prohibited.

• Turkey hunting is permitted in the fall season only. Proof of a turkey hunting license and park permit are required.

• Target and promiscuous shooting is prohibited

• No motor vehicles off the improved or paved surfaces. Parking in designated lots only. No parking along roadways.

• NO snowmobiles or all-terrain vehicles may be operated on Schodack Island State Park property.

• Cutting, placing nails or screws into, or otherwise damaging trees or other vegetation is prohibited

• Tree stands must be climber style or lock on. All stands must be removed daily. Non marring stands and no nails for fasteners are allowed in trees.

• No structures of any kind can be erected on Schodack Island property.

• Schodack Island State Park is a Carry In/Carry Out facility.

• Hunting permits do not apply to privately owned lands.

• Failure to abide by any of these regulations will result in the revocation of this permit.

• All hunters must be out of the woods 30 minutes after sunset.

• ALL WEAPONS MUST BE SECURLY STORED IN A VEHICLE OR CAMPER WHILE HUNTERS ARE RESIDING IN THE CAMPGROUND.

• NO NIGHT HUNTING of any kind on Schodack Island shall take place.
