1. Determine whether you would like to have the outreach event on campus or at a high school
2. Research local high schools and there college/career representatives
3. Determine event logistics: Date, time, location, etc.
4. Formally message the high school representatives with the Road to College invitation to invite parents and students (Flyer template and invitation template will be provided by HSF)
5. If the event is on the college campus, provide the high school representatives with contact information, directions/map, and any information to facilitate the process

6. Have a registration process and follow-up with the students and parents by calling them to remind them about the event
7. Recruit campus students to volunteer and assist with the presentation or with navigating participants
8. Send email with a Thank You and additional resources after the event

Besides asking for your general information, course work, extracurricular activities and volunteer opportunities, there will be essays that you’ll need to write in order for us to get to know you better as a potential recipient.
HSF Essays PromptsEssay 1 (250-500 words): Describe the world you came from—for example, your family, community, or school—and tell us how your Hispanic heritage shaped your life
Essay 2 (250-500 words): If we did an online search of you 10 years from now, what would it say you had accomplished in your life and career? What else would the search reveal about you?
Tweet (140 characters): It’s difficult enough to describe yourself in a 500-word essay. We dare you to describe yourself as completely and truthfully as possible in 140-character limit of a tweet.
