As a school we constantly review the way we deliver curriculum and plan programs
to cater for our diverse student population. We consider the research findings of
internationally renowned educators and strive to deliver programs that are based on
proven best practice and research. In this way we continue to build confidence in the
public school system.
Our commitments are to programs we consider encourage children to build solid
foundations in literacy and numeracy and give them the confidence to be critical
thinkers and enquiring and open minded learners.
Our school wide pedagogy is anchored by clearly stated intentions, teacher directed
learning, explicit instruction and positive teacher – student relationships. Our vision
enables us to build a culture of high performance and high care. The strong
partnership with our school community and particularly with the Ellenbrook School
Board has enabled the school community to develop this Plan to guide us from 2017

Ellenbrook Business Plan – Our Commitments
This iteration of the Ellenbrook Business Plan 2017 – 2019 maps the way forward for our school
in terms of goals that support our vision of a learning community that has consistently stated high
expectations for student academic and non-academic performance.
This Plan established by the school leadership team in collaboration with school staff
and community takes into account 2016 recommendations made by the Department of
Educational Services. Goals we have set align with the requirements of the WA School
Assessment and Reporting Authority. Our improvement agenda for strong
improvement, challenge and change is underpinned by credible research findings and an
acknowledgement of the scholarly contribution leaders such as Laureate Professor of
Education University of Melbourne, John Hattie make to improving outcomes in
Australia’s schools.
Guided by the requirements of the Delivery and Performance
Agreement 2017 – 2019, Ellenbrook PS continues to maintain a
strong focus on an evidence – based approach to our self -
assessment processes. The National School Improvement Tool
is used as a framework to format our Business Plan and provide a
meaningful monitoring and assessment tool for the 2017 – 2019 Ellenbrook
Business Plan.
Ellenbrook Primary School will engage in an ongoing process of self-assessment
throughout the life of the Business Plan and according to the requirements of the
Delivery Performance Agreement 2017 – 2019.
Our School Priority Targets are highlighted in blue and form the focus for our 2017-2019
reporting requirements for the 2019 Department of Educational Services Review.
