Coleman Middle School creates a “Favorite Books and Authors” display window in the Media Center. Students and teachers are encouraged to write the title of their favorite books and/or authors on a sticky note. The sticky notes are displayed on a large window by the student entrance door so that all students and teachers have the opportunity to view the many varied titles and authors. We also plan to conduct student and teacher book talks throughout the week.

Davidsen We will be doing our 1,000 book give away. We call it the great American Book Giveaway. We try to give each student a book. We will be giving out prizes for getting caught reading. The sixth-grade language arts teachers, Ms. Uriarte and Ms. Graves are having the students make questions and answers to go with all of the classroom books that will have been read up to winter break. They play Jeopardy with teams and the students earn points and at the end, the students wager the points just like in final Jeopardy. Ms. Kott's class will begin writing letters to students in Italy to match their study in Rome. There will be a bookmark design contest in the media center. Our tech teacher, Ms. Moumne is having every student create a book trailer in early January that follows the SLAM guidelines. The media specialist, Ms. Supple, and I are having a SLAM showcase.
