MEANING OF SCHOOL
The term school, it isargued, originated by aGreek word “skhole”meaning leisure.
The concept of leisure wasassociated with “school”mainly because in ancientGreece, general educationwas not available to allmembers of the society.
It was the privilege of the‘rich’ and ‘highest class’ ofthe society.
SCHOOL
Traditionally around seven child years old the child enters
the school system in the first grade.
Today the process often starts earlier in kindergarten or
day care.

commonly known as adjustment

• Cunningham – “Curriculum is a tool in the hands of the
artist(teacher) to mould his material(pupils) according to
his ideas(aims and objectives) in his studio(school)”.
• Froebel – “Curriculum should be conceived as an
epitome of the rounded whole of the knowledge and
experience of the human race”.
