Kuehnle Elementary opened in 1989 and serves students residing in Spring Creek Oaks and neighboring subdivisions. The school opened under the leadership of Maryanna Rhemann (nee Richardson) who served as the principal until her retirement in June, 2008. Kuehnle Elementary has a history of being one of the Klein ISD’s top performing schools. We at Kuehnle believe that every child is special, unique and capable of learning. Kuehnle Elementary was named in honor of two branches of the Kuehnle family. Johann Kuehnle immigrated from Eichenkirnberg, Germany in 1852. John Kuehnle and his sisters, Rosa and Katy, immigrated from Wittenberg, Germany in 1875. Both families played an important role in the settlement of the Klein Community.
Kuehnle parents have many volunteer opportunities to choose from. Parents volunteer in the library, computer lab, art room and in the cafeteria. We also have parents volunteer in our Helping Hands program and as classroom readers. Other opportunities are available at our PTO Fun Run, Room Parents, Park and Read, Field Day, Teacher Appreciation Events, Family Fun Night, WATCH D.O.G. for Dads, etc.
Kuehnle Elementary is rated as a Met Standards campus in Klein ISD.
Kuehnle Elementary provides a developmental and preventive counseling program that promotes student learning by supporting the positive personal, social and emotional growth of all students. Through individual and group counseling, classroom lessons, consultation and collaboration, the counselor works with students, staff, parents and community resources to promote student adjustment and academic success. Working closely with principals and staff, the counselor advocates for students through numerous services and activites.
