Their grade heads, Ms Heléne Meyer and Mr Hannes Verhoef, addressed them and emphasised the importance of their legacy in the maze of adulthood that lies ahead. I would like to wish these grade 12s and their parents all of the best for their final exams and would like to thank all the teachers who played a major role in their teaching and education during their high school years. Their last formal function is our annual prestige prize-giving on Monday night. There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. Nelson Mandela May the class of 2019 be guided by these wise words, never settle for less than what they are capable of and seize every moment that comes their way - Carpe Diem! On Monday, the current grade 11s will take their place on the gallery of the hall, representing the start of a new cycle … long live the king. A special salute to all the learners who excelled in various fields during the holidays. We are very proud of Merrick Brett (chosen for the Titans cricket team and for the SA u/19 squad) and Veronique Rossouw (national u/15 mountain biking champion).
