Leader: Sometimes we struggle to bear fruit. We fail. We ache from disappointment. Nothing seems to grow or flourish. Know this. You have deep roots. Let them sustain you through each life season. Graduates: Roots anchor trees and sustain their growth. Our roots anchor us. They sustain us. They ground us so that we can reach out in love to others. We are ready and eager to go out from this place and bear fruit.

Leader: Hear Jesus’ commandment as you go: “Love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” You have been called. Appointed. Go now and bear fruit. Graduates: Called and blessed, we go now into hospitals, churches, schools, and non-profit organizations. We go into cities, neighborhoods, and communities. We go into the world. We go now to bear fruit.

Master of Divinity Class of 2014 GiftAs a token of love and appreciation, the Class of 2014 has pledged to give $2,014 to the Davis Chapel renewal, specifically to assist in the purchasing of the new pulpit .

Class StolesThe stoles the Class of 2014 chose were purchased from Colores del Pueblo, a fair trade company that focuses on preserving and empowering traditional Latin American artists . The stoles were made by women who live in a slum outside of Guatemala City, many of whom are victims of domestic abuse . Through the initiatives of Colores del Pueblo these artists are able to gain economic self-sufficiency and restored self-worth . Each member of the graduating class chose their stole color .

Master of Divinity Concentrations

The Wake Forest University School of Divinity provides an integrative, multi-disciplinary approach to theological education . One of our aims is to equip women and men to be public religious leaders . Several concentrations within the Master of Divinity degree offer courses that allow students to develop skills and gain knowledge specific to particular fields of study and areas of public religious leadership .

Well-Being and Religious Leadership Program

The Well-Being and Religious Leadership Program facilitates within the MDiv curriculum an interdisciplinary conversation that emphasizes care of creation, personal and communal spirituality and ethics, individual and communal health, and the common good .

Food and Faith: this concentration is designed to equip religious leaders with the knowledge, skills, and pastoral habits necessary to guide congregations and other faith-based organizations in creating more redemptive food systems where God’s shalom becomes visible for a hungry world .

Faith and Health of the Public: in collaboration with University partners such as the School of Public Health and the Faith and Health Division at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, this concentration is designed to promote interdisciplinary care, which recognizes and respects personal and communal spirituality and ethics as essential to well-being and quality of life .

Additional concentrations include Education and Sustainability .

Read more about all of our concentrations at http://divinity.wfu.edu/academics/concentrations.

FOR EVERYONE BORN11.10.11.10 with refrain
