Nail Technician

Students will learn a wide variety of massage styles and modalities that include orthopedic and sports massage, spa therapies, and Eastern paradigms. Also included in the coursework is anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, pathophysiology, and practice management. Students will have the opportunity for supervised practice in the school’s massage clinic. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx), given by the Federation of State Massage Therapy.

This program prepares students for positions as instructors in a cosmetology program. Students will take courses in communications, procedures and observation, instructional methodology and management, and clinic management. Students will have student teaching experience in several different classes. Graduates of this program will be able to sit for the Teacher licensing exam when they have successfully completed 500 hours of instruction AND have successfully completed the Master Teacher program.

This diploma program combines the Esthetics and Nail Technician programs. This program will allow graduates to work as esthetician or as a nail technician. Students will gain knowledge of skin care and makeup, along with manicuring, pedicuring, nail design and artistry. Graduates of this program will be able to sit for the Esthetics licensing exam after the completion of 300 hours of instruction. In addition, students will be able to sit for the Nail Technician licensing exam after completion of 200 hours of instruction. These exams are taken through the State Board of Cosmetology.

Our nail technician program provides you with the knowledge and skills to perform natural manicuring, pedicuring, nail design and artistry along with instruction in traditional and contemporary techniques for nail enhancements and nail extensions. The student will be able to sit for licensing by the State Board of Cosmetology after completion of 200 hours AND successful completion of the Nail Technician program.

Our cosmetology curriculum covers a wide variety of skills including classes in hair styling and color, manicuring, skin care, chemical services, and salon management. You will have the opportunity for supervised practice in the school’s full-service cosmetology clinic and perform services for real clients. This clock-hour program is designed to train students in both theory and practical experience. After completion of 1,350 hours of instruction AND successful completion of the this program, graduates must take and pass the licensure examination through the State Board of Cosmetology in order to practice in a salon or spa. The exam consists of a written portion and a practical portion. All classes prepare our students to take and to pass the exam; a mock state board exam is available to the student prior to the actual exam.

15-week DiplomaIn just 355 hours, you’ll gain an understanding of skin care, including an in-depth study of anatomy, physiology and histology, infection control, ingredient and product knowledge, chemistry, and nutrition. In addition, we’ll teach you how to provide a variety of services such as specialized facials with facial massage, Galvanic and high frequency treatments, and hair removal. You’ll also learn in-depth skin analysis, use of facial machines, and professional makeup.
