Summary Statement: Please provide a brief description for how the analyzed data will impact your Inquiry and Action Planning process.Strengths:Based on AIMSweb data, the number of students in the 1-9th percentile decrease from 42 to 37 students (comparing Fall Benchmark to Spring Benchmark). The number of students in the 50th percentile and above increased from 45 to 55 students.

According to AIMSweb Fall to Spring Benchmark comparison, a majority of students showed growth of one year or more during the 2015-16 school year. Specifically, 55% of first graders; 74% of second graders; 75% of third graders; 64% of fourth graders, and 69% of fifth graders. Schoolwide 67.5% of students showed a minimum of one year of growth based on AIMSweb data.

Areas of Concern:Baseline SBAC Math data indicates that 12.85% of students are proficient. The gap between Caucasian and Hispanic students is the largest with 15.59% more Caucasian students demonstrating proficiency in math than Hispanic students.

Baseline SBAC ELA data indicates that 28.84% of students are proficient. The gap between Caucasian and Black students is the largest with 9.79% more Caucasian students demonstrating proficiency in ELA than Black students.

COMPONENT IV: REQUIRED ELEMENTS FOR TITLE I SCHOOLS:  

Title I Schools operating a Schoolwide Program must complete Items 1 through 5 on this page. 

1. Describe the school's strategies to attract effective, highly-qualified teachers to your school.Red Rock ES has a rich history in the Clark County School District. The administration supports teachers and strives to maintain an environment that is safe and supportive so that teachers can truly make a difference in the lives of students. In addition, the administration and staff are committed to ensuring that appropriate resources are available for teachers.

 2. Describe the school's strategies to increase family engagement in accordance with Section 1118 of NCLB (see resource link), such as family literacy services and the provision to parents on how the school will share academic information in a language they understand.The staff hosts various events during the school year to promote family engagement: Ready for Red Rock Day/Open House (August);; Kinder Parent Training (September/November); Parent Advisory Group Meetings (monthly); Parent Advisory Committee (monthly); Parent/Teacher Conferences (October, December, March); Halloween Carnival (October); Breakfast with Santa (December); Literacy Night (March); Pastries with Parents (March); Math Night (April); Community Clean-Up (ongoing); Community Connections Meetings (quarterly). Parents are able to access the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for information about student grades and attendance.

 3. Describe the school's plans for transition and articulation between school programs (ie: assisting preschool children from early childhood programs such as Head Start, Even Start, or a state-run preschool program to elementary school, elementary school to middle school, and middle to high school, etc.).The school counselor provides ongoing training to the 5th grade students to prepare them for transition to middle school. Pre-K and kindergarten teachers collaborate to ensure a smooth transition from PK to K. In addition, the school staff works with the feeder schools to plan appropriate registration and transition activities.

 4. Identify the measures that include teachers in decisions regarding the use of academic assessments.Each month, teachers conduct RTI meetings. During the team meetings, students' needs are discussed. Progress monitoring information is shared and determinations regarding the students' RTI plans are made. All teachers meet monthly to review data to determine the impact of instructional strategies and how they relate to assessment data. The Leadership Team meets monthly to discuss the school-wide behavior plan and appropriate support for teachers.

 5. Provide assurance that federal, state, and local services are coordinated and integrated into the school improvement effortsAll services are coordinated appropriately by utilizing the following personnel: administration, strategist, teachers, and itinerant staff. Title I funding is used to reduce class sizes, provide tutoring, provide parent training, purchase software, and provide professional development and collaboration opportunities to teachers.
