About Us:

Setup in 2001 to provide ICT support to both Education and business, our company soon developed an excellent reputation and by 2005 we became a limited company. With a proven record of working in the Lincolnshire Schools ICT Service since 2001, we continue to build on our experience and infrastructure. Based in Pinchbeck, Spalding, South Lincolnshire, the core of our focus is Primary Schools where we find a local service, complemented by regular visits by the same engineer has proved very successful. Now based in our own building, we have the platform to develop our service, along with warehouse space and a purpose-built imaging and repairs facility. We also have offices in Metheringham near Lincoln and Cottesmore in Rutland. We have a professional and friendly team of engineers, along with a website developer, ready to assist with new projects as well as day to day operations. We have two full time installers who is available for data cabling work, wireless installation, projector installations etc, allowing a faster order to installation timescale. We can supply hardware, software and are authorised resellers for most interactive products. Being one of the few Smart accredited trainers in the country, we can also offer Smart training. We also run a Smart Board spares service through our website www.smartboardshop.co.uk. The services we offer are specifically built for each organisation, dependant on the current infrastructure, future requirements and the continued delivery of core services. All our contracts are tailored specifically for your organisation based on a mixture of existing hardware ownership and user requirements.

Explanation of Charges:

Ark ICT Solutions Ltd provide a base all-in contract to support all of the ICT support requirements. We offer ‘add ons’ that can be applied to the base contract to delivery additional services. If the school chooses Ark ICT Solutions as their ICT provider, the school will receive unlimited remote and onsite support (unless remote only contract). The school would have a designated engineer who will visit the school on a routine schedule to check and resolve any issues your staff or pupils may have. If an urgent issue arises we can arrange an engineer to visit if deemed necessary or attempt to resolve the issue remotely. We do not assign a specific amount of time onsite for each school unless specified within the contract, just a visit schedule. No charge is made for a maintenance visit outside the schedule.

If any installation time is required for moving interactive whiteboards, installing projectors, installing cabling, wireless etc. These are usually tasks that cannot be undertaken as part of your routine visit and need an additional visit by our installation team. Delivered from within the EMPSN network the Netsweeper cloud solution has been built and scaled for high

Offsite Backup Solution:

Working with our partners Data Bunker, Ark recommend using an offsite backup solution as part of your backup

strategy. All your important data is automatically encrypted before it leaves your site and then backed up every

night to a very secure data storage facility in Nottingham. UK data storage only.

This service provides peace of mind knowing your critical data is not only automatically backed up offsite but also

locally stored. It covers all eventualities including server failure, deletions by staff, fire and theft. There is no need to

swap tapes or USB hard drives as the entire process is automatic. You will receive an email every day when the

backups have completed. Ark ICT Solutions are an authorised provider of DataBunker Offsite Backups (for more

The cost of this solution is dependent on the amount of organisations that take of the service. The cross over point

School Remote Access Services

Microsoft Remote Desktop Services - Connect Anywhere, Anytime

Microsoft RDS (Remote Desktop Services) can give schools staff / pupils access to the school network using their own devices anywhere and anytime.

• Allow Staff / Pupils to access work on the school network from home.

• Users can logon from anywhere with an internet connection.

• Can also be used as a thin client solution.

• Access the school network using mobile devices such as an iPad.

• Use the software installed on your remote desktop server.

• Users can logon from home using their own machines.

Remote Desktop Service, formerly known as Terminal Services enables users to access Windows based programs that are installed on a Remote Desktop Server, or to access a full Windows desktop. With RDS users can access applications from an outside internet connection securely. When a user accesses a program on a Remote Desktop Server the program runs on the server directly. This can be used as an extension of the schools network allowing staff and pupil to work on documents while connected to the schools safe and secure network. This solution can be scaled for small to large scale deployments.

HAP - Home Access Plus This is a web based application that can be installed and hosted on your schools server. You would Access a login page via a secure web address (Example: https://SCHOOLNAME.arkictsolutions.co.uk/hap) Once you logon with your network username and password details you can browse to your schools shared drives and your personal "My Documents". You then have the ability to download / edit / upload and replace your files. So you would basically download the file you wish to edit. Once you have finished editing it, you would upload back and you would be asked if you wish to replace the current file that is located on your school server.

School VPN

We can provide a VPN service for your school that would allow you to connect remotely onto your schools network

from any outside internet connection.

What is VPN?

It is basically a secure point to point tunnel across the internet between your computer and your schools network.

This can be locked down to a specific group of users if required also.

This would allow your staff to access all shares drives live from your laptop while outside of the schools network.

Voice Over IP (VOIP) Phone Systems If you are considering looking at a new phone system, please let us know as we can offer voice over IP solutions. These work by

utilising your existing broadband connection for phone calls. Each phone has its own virtual line so it can increase the capacity of

your solution and only needs a standard network point to work.

It is a very cost-effective way of reducing the reliance and cost of analogue lines. The lines (called SIP trunks) are rented monthly

so can easily be added and removed when no longer needed. The solution also has very flexible call routing and recording

options.

We have tested the solution and it works fine through the emPSN connection, no additional solution is required. This is the

solution we use in our own office. This also allows free calls between anyone on the same platform.

The monthly rental is £6 + vat per phone and phones start from around £50 + vat to buy outright. There is also option for

dormant phones, which are a great way to pay for phones that aren’t used very often at only £3 + vat a month.

Phones are typically around £90 + vat as a one-off cost.

CCTV Services - HIKVISION We now offer Hikvision CCTV solutions and have installed IP systems into several different locations. The solution allows live

recording of cameras (the size of the system tends to be 4, 8, 16, 32 cameras etc), and can work over your existing network

cabling where appropriate. The system can then be viewed remotely via the internet on a web page or via an app on a mobile

device. We use the same system in our office and the image quality if fantastic and the system is very easy to use. An example of

the screen is shown below.

ICT Education Delivery Service Complementing the existing provision that Ark supplies, a training and teaching service can now be utilised within schools. This service is going to offered primarily by Rachel, an experienced, qualified primary school teacher (BEd Hons), who has innovatively and dynamically been using ICT within the classroom for the last six years. With a clear passion for technology, and

how it can impact upon pupils, Rachel has shaped the curriculum and coverage in her schools to utilise the 21st century we live in. After working as a Specialist Leader in Education (SLE) for ICT in Lincolnshire, and as a senior leader in schools for ICT, she has

joined the team to share her knowledge as part of Ark’s services. Understanding that all schools are individual, dependent on your school’s needs, bespoke training can be developed to suit your

school. Combining both the technological background of Ark and the first-hand experience of teaching, a wealth of programmes

can be delivered.

The ever-changing technology and resources can make keeping up to date with the curriculum a hard task. At ARK we will have a

range of specialist computing technology that can be taken into schools to deliver lessons to classes of pupils. This could be a

solution to those schools who are yet to invest in technology and will allow teachers to see the most up to date technology and

how it can be used in schools.

Remote Endpoint Management - AEM As part of GDPR and general security we need a more effective way to ensure all devices are kept current with software updates.

We already utilise the solution to monitor all servers but want to roll this out to all devices to have better management and monitoring of all devices, not just servers. AEM (Autotask Endpoint Management) offer a site pricing model which makes

licenses much more cost effective based on the number of devices (windows and Mac) onsite. The solution will also assist with ensuring updates and patches for software can be applied wherever the device is located if online, this would include staff laptops when being used at any location offsite.

AEM monitors your schools endpoint devices allowing us to automatically resolve issues and detect hardware problems before they become problematic, while keeping a concise inventory of your computer hardware regardless of its location. Migration and training

Last academic year we migrated 350 schools onto the ScholarPack platform - we know that for a successful

implementation the migration and training process needs to be simple and hands-off for schools. We handle the

entire process ensuring that there is minimal disruption to the office and classroom. Schools are census ready on day

1 for students and staff ensuring that schools are ready to go.

Data Security ScholarPack offers its users a state of the art cloud hosting environment which is used for all servers. This

environment ensures that the system remains secure, fast and highly available across all devices, regardless of the

number of concurrent users. ScholarPack uses industry best practices for the storage and transmission of all data

and fully complies with the guidelines from the ICO, the Data Protection Act and the GDPR (May 2018).
