    Design: E. de Portzamparc

ince its creation, Schrder has acquired an expertise

and a technological position that enhances the

reputation of this international Group to this day. Performance

and innovation are the core requirements of the Groups

products, which feature exceptionally high quality mechanical

and photometric properties. Designers of the Schrder Group

GIE are constantly creating innovative luminaires for urban,

public, industrial, and sports lighting applications which

    harmonise perfectly with contemporary trends.

1927, foundation in Lige (Belgium) of

    the company Constructions lectriques

    Schrder.

1948, first use of die cast aluminium

alloy in the field of lighting.

    1951, launch by Schrder of

    electropolished aluminium reflectors

    with high photometric efficiency.

    1986, Schrder launches the Sealsafe,

ensuring long lasting tightness of the

    optical compartment, which has

    become a world standard.

    1998, Schrder launches the Easilok,

    a positioning procedure with

    mechanical locking and automatic cut-

    out of the electricity supply.

2001, Schrder launches the R (micro-reflector), enabling great creative liberty

in the design of lighting luminaires.

Sealsafe - Easilok. The Sealsafe system, a uniqueconcept developed by Schrder, isbased on the principle of an opticalcompartment whose tightness istotally guaranteed over time. Recently, this procedure has been significantlyimproved by the addition of a lockinghandle, the Easilok system. Thissystem ensures rapid access to thelamp while disconnecting the powersupply.

Design. For several years now, Schrderhas been working closely withinternationally renowneddesigners and lighting creators.Pininfarina developed aluminaire integrating the R(micro-reflector).

Mechanical properties. Before they reach the market andalso during the production phase, the luminaires are subject to themost stringent tests in order toensure their mechanical andaerodynamic resistance.

The laboratory.Photometricperformance.A goniophotometerresponding to the latestrequirements enables thephotometric performance ofluminaires to be optimisedduring development. Forseveral years now, Schrderhas also been working on theproblems of luminance ; areflectometer measures thephotometric characteristics ofroad surfaces or variousmaterials.
